Third Brake light Z4 = Z4M ?

Need to order a brake light. I see different listings/prices. Z4 prices are less, are the lenses different ?

Z4M come stock with clear lenses. Regular Z4 have red lenses. I like the red lenses better to match the all red taillight and it's cheaper.

OK, mine has red lense, must have been switched. I found prices from $ 65-$130. I like the red with my Imola better anyway. Will order today, thanks for the clarification.

nah, mine also came with a red lens, original. are the z4m - z4 part numbers the same?

So that is the difference, coupe = red/ roadster = clear, was this how it went on the Z4 non M also. I did not order mine yet, I've got a missing part on vert top, going to go to Stealership to inquire. ( 1 of my 4 posts on the top, that make contact with the front edge, I just found to be missing/plastic piece broken ) So I'm going to get their "best price" on the third brake light. As I was in getting cowl hardware, very experienced parts desk guy told me that he can do better on pricing if I give him my price from competitor. He actually knocked $ 60 off cowl price after quoting me initially. Third brake light pricing is really all over the place online.
Here's what I don't understand...the Z4 pricing is way below the Z4M pricing. Are these lights different ?

As far as I'm aware, all Z4M Roadsters have clear third brake lights. All Z4 Coupes (including M) have red third brake lights.

I've seen non-M Z4's with both red and clear, but I'm unsure if this was tied to model year, LCI, or just the owner's swapping them when they cracked.

All Z4MR's have clear 3rd brake light lenses. Non M Z4R's have red 3rd brake light lenses. As for all coupes (M and non M), they come with red ones.

Thanks for clearing this up. I like the red matching my Imola Red car...upon further inspection it appears previous owner used some sort of glue/sealant around the edges of light, so it's going to take some careful scapeing away of material before install. Now just need to decide on red/clear. Stealership quoted me $ 76.26 for the clear, but $ 130 for the red...figures I like the red better
