Need Help!!!!! Newbie

Hi everyone i am looking at and 06 Z4 M roadster. I was wondering if there were any changes for 06 to 08. Also what problem i may expect, the car has almost 19,000 miles on it and i want to make sure i'm making the right buy. I also was wondering what are the pros and cons of the car, and if the stock roll bars are accepted for the road course. Also what minor mods could make the car faster, what are the best brands to buy from, and how wide of a tire can you fit on the back of the car(I know different rims come into affect) I was maybe looking at the m3 comp rims 18 x 8. Thanks in advance i am really hoping this deal works out, and i hope to become a part of your community.

Changes -
Aux input under dash in '07
Tire Pressure Monitor changed to active system in valve stem in '07
New colors in '07/'08

That's about it. Too new, too few to see a trend on major issues except maybe the loose passenger side engine mount bolt.

Drive it first before you think about mods. It's a great car stock (except the OEM tires).

M3 Comp wheels will fit (bunch of members have them) - there pull the wheel in about 5mm vs. stock.

Search for things like ESS tune or RPI scoop if you're looking for mods.

Welcome to the forum.
Other then what BeastCharmer mentioned, there aren't any significant changes between the years. By the time the Z4M came out most of the teething issues with the S54 motor had been resolved. Just check on the service history (verify the 1.2k mile break-in service).

Possible cons of the car:
It's rough, loud, impractical... all things that I actually consider pros.
Only real issue to be aware of is to be gentle shifting from 1st to 2nd. The Z4M has the transmission from the Z4 3.0, not the E46 M3, so it's not ideally suited for the engine.

As for using the roadster on the track. That's going to be up to whatever group is running the event. Some allow the roadster, some don't.

welcome to the community! finally another srt8 owner! nice times btw

The z4m is unfortunately not as mod friendly as the domestics minus the ess supercharger, but it sure as hell will satisfy you everyday that you own it.
