ECS link is 009422ECS01-03.
Picture is 009422ECS01A-01. I'll be ordering one as soon as this is resolved. I've always felt queasy yanking the stock one out knowing there's a plastic tip wanting to get caught and break. Tip is guaranteed not to fall off the ECS stick?

I love your product, but so far I have sent a few emails last Friday and today asking about what your guys have found and have received no answers. I know they are probably busy, but I'd like to know the status if possible. I just changed my oil to get the plastic bit out and I'm not really sure how the level sits as I have only a broken stock measuring implement. |

As for the possibility of the ECS stick breaking let me tell you, it's no plastic bit that's fore sure. It's heavy duty. |

Got mine in today - NOT IMPRESSED!
I got the same result as mainsoda. Not only is the ECS stick quite shorter than OE, there are a couple of different oil level markers on it that have no correlation. The 2 marked lines are different than the carved out indicators? Obviously, the longer carved indicators are the correct ones, but why have the lines? This is what I had ordered and it does indicate the correct fitment for the S54 => https://www.ecstuning.com/b-ecs-part...422ecs01-01~a/ |

That's not good. I'll certainly hold off on getting one of these until they get this issue resolved.

After seeing the dipstick first hand, I'm not sure if I like the smooth bullet measuring head. I would much preferred if they put in some type of crosshatch grooves to retain some oil for proper readings - that's just my opinion.
Heck, I don't even need the bling - I would be perfectly happy if they (ECS) made a lower cost OE replacement with bends and crosshatch grooves at the end like the attached pictures. I hate to worry about that plastic OE piece falling off everytime I check the oil. |

Yes - Already got an RMA and the package should be on its way back to you. Could you please look into why or how a dipstick that is advertised for our cars turned out to not fit the application at all? Thanks

I just got off a chat with ECS tuning support and I got some math wrong. I don't think the guy even cared and just seemed to want to get rid of me as fast as possible. After wrapping my brain around the measurement I've come to the conclusion that the BAD dipstick from base to tip is 589mm.
So a good one would have to be 35mm more or 624mm from base to tip. I'm not sure ECS tuning has any good ones anymore, as we know of at least 3 bad ones just on this thread. They certainly don't seem to be able to tell a good one from a bad one or care to even check. It's a small dollar item I know, but I am disappointed in this product now and in ECS in general. Does anyone know of any other non plastic tip aftermarket dip sticks? |

Sorry for the issues with these guys, I've alerted my head of R&D of the issue and he'll be reviewing production here shortly. If anyone needs assistance that hasn't PMd me yet, please do, I'll need your order number to pull it up in our system.

Sorry for the delay. We had a production error, until we have it corrected (new stock) I've had these turned off on the site to avoid somehow shipping any bad stock. I've been dealing several guys (yall that have posted and a few others) that got hands on the bad batch. IF you haven't been taken care of please message me ASAP so I can set up a proper return and apology for you.

The dipstick on my Z4M allways make a very good resistance when I’m about to pull it out.
I wonder if someone has a good advise about the best way to put the dipstick in and out so the tip dont brake off? Is there like an specific angle, twist motion or any other tricks? |

Mine turns about 1/2 turn on the way in and out.
I don't argue with it. I let it turn whichever way it comes out/goes in easiest.
