ill send you some tampons in the post... i think your due. sell the kit and buy something else then... just stop your moaning, its fucking boring, don't get me wrong I'm not mega ess fan ANYMORE, i used to be... but i hardly sing their praises now days and tell it how it is take a look at the last 6 months worth of comments from me, including their own threads on different platforms, but i can't lie, their stuff has been fine with me on the whole, i can't make it up, i CHOOSE to modify the kit for the use i was putting it through, their are plenty of happy ess customers that use their car more normally than gmd for example... either way... I've made my point :-) What I've learned is NONE of these kits will be up to a proper beating put the box, not ONE, everyone needs to know that imo.

That's a proper kit. I've seen a ferrari scuderia novitec rosso twin supercharger setup with Rotrex C38-91 and that is a damn fine setup. I have seen it drag with other cars allllll day lonnngggg in 40degrees Celcius heat. I don't see why ESS can't bring a damn setup that works without all the shit involved. I used to think that it was my beta kit VT2-500 but then i started to see the problems i am facing with the production kit and that's not acceptable to me. Anyway, apologies to the OP for thread bombing. Last edited by tikamak; 04-19-2014 at 03:21 PM.. Reason: rosso instead of rosse |

I still think it's something after the blower, especially if he's getting 9 psi at redline.

I honestly have no idea. VF never gives much detail. They just ask for more money and never come up with a real fix. Just bandaid on the wound to cover up the mess
But they said it should be around $400 to get it updated. I just can't afford the downtime on the car I'm seeing 9psi max output, but my low to mid-range is definitely soft/weak. The ESS-supercharged Z4Ms I've driven were all a lot more eager to get off the line. Mine feels laggy, almost like a turbo in terms of the power build. Not sure if that's just the difference between VF and ESS kits or what. Last edited by mfanatic325; 04-21-2014 at 09:13 AM.. |

When I had a boost leak, my power delivery felt exponential rather than linear. Once I got it corrected, it felt smoother and "right". I know people have checked out the car, but I'd still give it a once over and tighten everything.
Do you have AFR/boost hooked up?

Yes, I do have AFR and boost readings both hooked up to my P3C gauge. The AFR signal is provided by the Innovate LC1 wideband controller. However, as of late, I haven't put the P3C gauge back in, since I've been doing a lot of datalogs and tune flashes, etc. I will check them once the tune is perfected and is out of the way completely. |

If another person had a problem after spending so much time and money and I could help; then why not? It is shocking that VFE are basically wiping their hands of this problem from a good customer who just wants what they paid for. If I was going FI the VF kit looks awesome and maybe nicer than the ESS counterpart but if you are 100hp down then the problem should be easy to troubleshoot one would think for them. I know 007M has also bought this kit, not sure how they are getting on as there is no further info on the progress of their install or the results. Once again this sucks

Sorry, haven't been on the forum much at all lately. Ever since about half a year ago, I've been running an independent tune through Frank Smith, and the car behaves a TON better; putting out 440RWHP and 315RWTQ peaks. I'm not all to worried about the top-end power as compared to a supposed 472RWHP and 330RWTQ, as I am concerned about the overall driveability of the car. With Frank's tuning help, the car is much more stable and is much more docile.
For those that have gotten or will be getting VF's hardware in the future, I highly highly suggest you don't waste your time and money on VF's in-house tune. It is complete crap. Go with an independent tuner like Frank Smith or whomever else that has had firsthand experience tuning the MSS70 and that you have easy access to. For the record, I still like VF's hardware a lot. The fit is so-so, but the finish is top notch. I'm personally still supposedly on the older supercharger blower trim, and perhaps where I lack a little bit of power is in the trim difference. But I've no immediate plans to update it anytime soon. Might wait until it completely goes bad, or otherwise needs rebuilding. I've also flushed out the water system in the A2W intercooling. I was running a mix of water and coolant, but Frank Smith told me to run water-only, and to make sure to purge the system every now and then of air. I'm now running only distilled water in the independent cooling system and have noticed a slight drop in operating temps. I have also put in a new LSD unit courtesy of Jim Blanton @ Performance Gearing, and the car puts down power like no other! I was a skeptic before, but after shelling out the money for the upgrade and doing some mountain runs, I was shocked at how the stock LSD could be so lacking in comparison to a "proper" unit Last edited by mfanatic325; 11-26-2014 at 12:07 PM.. |

So, I went with Frank's tune. WOW! Talk about a complete change! Amazing! Without going to redline the car made 420whp on a Mustang Dyno which is 12-15% off of the standard Dynojet. Which means that I'm making 477whp and 494whp by regular calculations. Frank said that from all the S54 engines he's tuned for the vf570 this one had come out the strongest yet and he felt that going the extra couple hundred rpms to redline would've put me at 500-505 whp. Not only that, but the thing is absolutely behaved under normal driving. Smooth as butter, no stalling, no rough idling... thing of beauty. Then when you step on it... power like mad. I'll be writing up a more complete post on this just haven't had the time yet. Thank you Mfanatic325! For hooking me up with Frank and saving me tons of headache with continuing to deal with the super unresponsive and super unhelpful VF. |

It is strange that a company like vf has such a bad tune and foremost bad support.
I mean: they also tune porsches&lamborghinis, for a lot of money. I wonder if they think bmw z4m owners are not interesting anymore. (older car, cheaper kits). Maybe they only think customers who spend a lot of money (as in: even more money) are interesting enough for their attention?
