New Keyfob?

I would like to replace the old keys as the batteries are not holding a charge any more. All I see is a EWS 315mhz and EWS 433mhz.

What key would work?

It is an E85 Z4M.

I think its the 315 one.. you can buy blanks off ali and use ak90+ to program it.. or lock smith with similar tools. I got the blade folding type.

My aliexpress history got purged, its something like this you can switch to.. ill look when I get off work again..

Picked up 2 folding keys and sent them to a locksmith to get cut. $50 locksmith, $50 for the 2 keys and $30 for the programmer. $130 for 2 keys vs dealership $220 per key.

if you got original key already you just need to get them cut and you should be able to pair both keys yourself and for engine start,

I managed to get one done as a spare not upgrade as you like, but followed this guide worked perfect.

Did you get your key from BMW? All the locksmiths that I asked said you need to use the AK90+ to program any new cut key. I thought that process only worked if you get the key cut from BMW with your VIN programmed into it.

I got my key from ebay, hopefully a decent one.

I then paired it to open the doors with buttons,

then went and got it cut, at a small local locksmith £25

then i tried to open the door worked fine,
but no ignition obviously not paired.

I then followed the guide i linked above, and put my original in ignition turned it to position 1 i think and then put new key and it turned over now a working spare.

I was warned not to play with pairing my own keys as i could lock my car out somehow but i followed above and worked for me.

good guide, but scary part is pairing it to start engine when i tried to turn it was a bit stiffer but after it sync with alarm its fine now as a spare key.

had to follow guide exactly.

dont try if your worried about getting car locked out, your need bmw to sort that i heard.

you need a working key that currently opens doors and starts to do this procedure,

i was quoted £145 cheapest so tried it myself.

No went to a small local locksmith, he kept saying same thing tell him you only want it for opening the doors in case you lock your good one out is what I said and he cut it. Don't use timpsons they just say needs a programmer, I just tried that key and it's not starting the car weird it worked before and a week after wonder if it's a cheap key and somehow lost its pairing

You might better call a locksmith south croydon to fix this issue of yours in the future. As far as I know, a locksmith can replace you the key and reprogram it.
