Hello from Malta Europe

Hiii from Malta I have owned this car for 4 years now but unfortunately i now have my first major problem with it.

I have a fault with my ABS unit, I want to ask first of all if its possible to remove only the abs controller and also how eventually can i remove the whole pump out.

Hi,

I've been looking to get a roadster for a long, long time and finally took the plunge. Here in the Denver area and looking forward to going topless this year. This will be my DD, as the commute is fairly short. absolutely love the M sport seats in the car; so comfortable.

I remember when they first introduced the E85 model and not liking the design (when compared to the outgoing Z3)
I'd never seen one up close though; the lines make so much more sense in person.

Cheers!

Hopin' to pick up my '07 3.0si Montego Blue/Black this weekend. Got into this car as a fluke, of sorts. Was looking for a convertible but thought the Saturn Sky was NOT what I wanted, then the Beamer came into the picture.....

tires

To newbies: If you want to improve the handling of your si, and get a civilized ride at the same time, get rid of the run flat tires. They cause a phenomenon called tramlining, that does not happen with the M owners. See http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=719852

Hi all,

First I want to apologize if my English in any moment sucks. ops:

My name is Javi, I am from Spain and have a Z4 2.0, 4 years ago. In this time I have made it some mods. I use the car daily and every day I’m more satisfied withit.
Thanks to Spanish forums I’ve known people with zeds (z1, z3 and z4) that now are really good friends.

I’m an organizer of routes and meetings in Spain. “Ruta de Gatos” is a national concentration that is done once a year. :driving:

We are going to know us a bit more … … here let you some pics.

First day

A year later....

2 years later...

Now....

Some friends of Ruta de Gatos

Thanks for all!!

Bought my first Z4

2003 white.

I love it.

Had a bent rim which I have ordered (100.00 on eBay)

Body is as near perfect as it could be. Two chips in paint about quarter inch by quarter inch. (One on front air dam next to grill, one on trunk lid.

Drivers seat is showing wear on leather. Console ashtray is missing. Door is there but the ashtray insert is gone.

Top is very good but it is olive drab and I hate the color.

No owners manual. Can't figure out how to set the clock.

Previous owner must have had some trouble with the cup holder and air deflector on the left side. Has been removed and reinstalled but not a perfect job.

Exterior mirrors only work intermittently with the electronic control.

I see these as minor issues which I will correct as the weeks go by.

I'd be happy for some wisdom.

Owner's Manual

You can download the 2004 at http://www.bmwusa.com/Standard/Conte...modelcode=0428

Check the trunk good, around the battery. It may be there.

To set the clock, you may need the radio manual.

Hi peoples , I'm Chris or 'bloodysalmon' - just bought my 3rd Z4, 3.0i auto. Had the 1st Z4 in Notts, UK on June 17th 2003, then another in late 2004 ... then decided to go back to owning Z3's instead as I reckoned they were more rawer and more fun to drive. However, this Z4 should last me a while now ... once I have sorted out the steering and meandering and jumping off track ... most disconcerting. Will post this on the forum shortly.

Hello

I am new (sort of) to the Bimmer world. I bought my '03 Z4 last year. It has just over 50k on the clock and looks like it just rolled off the showroom floor. Silver with a black interior. I drove a Jaguar xj6 for the last 15 years and thought it was time to get a roadster! It looks nice next to the H-D Ultra Classic. I will find out really quick how nasty my back might get as I am taking it from Wisconsin to Charleston, S. Car. this Friday. I intend to do all the mechanicals myself, just as I did on the Jag and my Harley and Jeep!

Well, I don't have a Z4 (at least not yet), but joined this forum looking to get some advice. Looks like I can't create a new thread of my own yet. I live in CT and this would be my daily driver, replacing an '02 Lexus SC430. The climate in CT isn't ideal for a Z4 (or SC430) to be a daily driver, but I work out of my home over 90% of the time, so I can usually avoid driving at all on bad weather days, and just wait for the plows to clear the roads. After owning a manual transmission '91 Toyota MR2 and '07 Mazda RX-8, I've been disappointed in the way my SC430 feels. It just doesn't handle like a sports car, and I miss that.

The SC430 has been very reliable, and it's still a beautiful looking car (black exterior, saddle interior). The retractable hardtop is nice. When it's up, it's quiet and visibility is good. But, again, it just doesn't put a smile on my face when I'm driving it like my old MR2 and RX-8 did. I bought the SC430 used back around '08 and the back seat was useful at the time because my daughter was still little, but she's grown up fast and is now taller than my wife and the backseat is now useless for anyone. Since we've managed to live with that just fine (we drive my wife's Highlander whenever we all go somewhere together), I figure losing the backseat altogether shouldn't be a big deal.

I'm mainly looking for some assurance that the Z4 won't be a total unreliable money pit, and that it won't be totally useless/dangerous in the winter. I'd be buying used and probably out of warranty, and I'm not knowledgeable about working on cars, so I'd be bringing it somewhere for maintenance/repairs. There's a service station not too far away from me that apparently specializes in BMW's (they seem to do a lot of mods and track racing), so I'm thinking they may be a cheaper route than a BMW dealership, while still being experts at what they're doing.

Other cars I've considered include a new Subaru WRX (styling doesn't do much for me), a BMW 3-series coupe w/AWD and manual transmission, a Subaru BRZ (or Toyota equivalent), Audi TT Quattro convertible (styling seems a bit boring to me), and the Honda S2000. Of all of these, the Z4 and BRZ appeal to me the most in terms of styling.

For the Z4, I'd like to buy for under $25,000, so I'm likely looking at an '08 or older. To be honest, I prefer the lines on the older model anyway, though I do worry a bit about the soft top. Although I think the older hardtop coupes are beautiful, if I was going to go the Z4 route, I think I'd prefer it to be a roadster.
