Turn light on when unlocking

I tried a search on the forum but nothing poped up, so is there a way how to set our (08 Z4M Coupe) cars so they turn on the lights when you unlock the car? Friend of mine has a X5 and it is a really nice feature that his license plate light and I believe also front lights turn on when he unlocks the car.

I'm pretty sure this can be set with Progman.
I think it's called "pathway lighting".
Your cheapest solution would probably be to get a GT1 knockoff and set it yourself.
And you have the advantage of having DIS and INPA if you need them.
I bought mine for $40, but installation was a little complicated.
Do a search. Somebody makes one with "1-click" installation and I think it was still under $100.

Ron Stygar has a data sheet of things that can be set with Progman over on bimmerfest.
Looks like the only option for pathway lighting is headlights.

I can put the top down by holding the unlock button on the remote.
Not sure about putting it up. Don't know if that's a standard feature.
Mine slams if I don't hold it with my hand at the last second, so I never do it from outside the car.

You can probably get more creative with NCS, but I don't have any experience using it.

thanks, and do you know how to code a new airbag? i bought the drivers door airbag and module, and i have only connected them to the car... is it possible to do that with one of those software tools, or do i have to take the car to the dealer? thanks again!
