Using Goo Gone on soft top? (To remove tree sap)
Anyone used GooGone on the soft top before? Or know of any way to get rid of tree sap. I've tried using soft top cleaners, soaking and rubbing it out, but still has a sligh white mark.
A drop or two sap landed on the black plastic above the side view mirros, I used Goo Gone there, it took 3 min and was gone. I know the stuff will work, but dont want to discolor the soft top. Any ideas? Last edited by veryhuman; 04-19-2009 at 09:12 PM.. |

So the tree sap stain settled in for 9 months now, I visited a dealer for some warranty work, and saw a Tree Sap Remover for soft tops by BMW.
It works (even after 9 months)!! Sprayed the spot, let it settle for 2 mins, wipe with damp cloth until all of the cleaner is off, and wipe dry. I couldn't believe it, it was so easy, the spot is gone. The description says its good for bird droppings too. Great product. |
