Z4 M Roadster Alpha N?

Hello everybody,

I have a problem that I can't get over and I was wandering if anybody has any knowledge about it:
I would like to tune (NA) my z4m rdstr and was thinking of installing a csl (or csl type) airbox, cams and full exhaust. The problem is that this car is very very rare in Greece and the tuners here say that they can't unlock the ECU. Moreover, I was thinking of installing the ESS program (which is not alpha N) but I don't know if they could make it work with those components properly. Of course, I think that an alpha N program is the best solution for this engine. Does anybody have an idea who could I contact for an alpha N? I would appreciate if anybody that has performed such mods on his car could guide me a bit.

Have you tired contacting ESS to see what they say?

I haven't contacted them because my mechanic said that they would not bother. But I guess that if I don't contact them I will never find out... This is probably the best way to start since I can't find any other tuner that has an alpha N for this car. I would really like to make a screamer out of her but it seems more difficult than I expected judging from the M3 with the same engine. Tough luck... I am always open to suggestions.

a-ltuning.com has accomplished the alpha N tuning w/ csl box and 30 hp gains!! It was in this month bmw magazine, but I don't remember which one...I'll go back to barnes and find it

I fmy pockets were deep I would definitely pick up the tuning/csl box and and the supersprint stepped headers...but unfortunately that would cost more than an ess supercharger

but the sound/experience of an angrier s54 n/a would be dreamy

FYI - the price: 2,345.00 British pounds = 3,844.16 U.S. dollars.

Plus shipping of course.... PLUS another $750 for their software map. That's $4500, or $153 dollars per HP gained [!] versus, say, the rumoured ESS supercharger for $6K-7K that will get you to 455HP.

Maybe someone will organize a group by at a more sane cost. They do appear to have a US Distributor.

You can get the same airbox from bimmerworld for $3000ish and they make two versions.... one for alpha-n and one for a maf. Goke Carbon out of Germany also makes one for around $2500.
