Pebble Beach Concours

This has been on my bucket list for a while. I'm thinking of attending the 2015 event with my (then) 15 year old son. As I understand it there are all sorts of activities and events out there, besides just the Pebble Beach car show. Does anyone know where to start doing some research on those various things going on out there at that time? Unfortunately I wouldn't be able to drive my M Roadster out there as it's a 60 hour round-trip cruise. I don't have that sort of patience, and my son is way too tall to sit in the little M for that amount of time. So we'd probably fly out there, rent a car, stay nearby (I'm thinking that could be challenging) and attend 2-3 days worth of events, culminating in the Sunday concours.

I realize I can visit Google, but I'm wondering if anyone is aware of a particular website or two that contain a lot of the comprehensive details. Thanks!

The Pebble Beach Concours is just one event (on the last day) in an entire week long series of events collectively called Monterey Car Week.

Just a preview, lodging costs will be astronomical, restaurants jammed and reservations impossible to get, and it's also the world's most expensive traffic jam. But every car enthusiast should go at least once in their life.

I went last year because the BMW CCA Oktoberfest was held the following week, after the BMW CCA Legends of the Autobahn on Friday, and the Monterey Motorsports Reunion a series of classic auto races at Laguna Seca on Saturday and Sunday. Fortunately, my wife's company owns a hotel in the area so I had free lodging. One place you have to go during the week, preferably on Friday night, is Baja Cantina in Carmel. The owner is a long time car enthusiast and racer. The parking lot is a whole car show in and of itself that night. Get there very early for drinks/dinner and you might just get in. The only way I got in that night was a local friend grew up in the area, knows the owner, and was already there when I arrived.
