As for the pedal, I changed out the 2 tps sensors (along with o2's, coils, plugs, maf, and a few other odds and ends) about 25k ago as a preventative but didn't do the pedal at the time. Recently for about the last 1-2k I've been getting intermittent tps issues and limp mode and it appears to be the pedal. The car has about 133k now so the pedal has some miles on it. |

I have only been doing it wrong for 9 years... maybe I'll mark my 10th winter by actually doing it like I am supposed to... :goes to garage:

If anything the vortex off the M badge might increase airflow! I honestly don't think it would make that big a difference. Wherever you closest plug is makes sense |

Turned out absolutely spot on IMO. Takes a bit of finesse to get the desired contour but the look is outstanding and well worth the 5 hours of cutting and installation. Drivers side goes on tomorrow, but will be way quicker by using the passenger side as a template. Tried riveting the piece to the OEM side sills but was not happy with the stability so ended up drilling and tapping into the frame rails. Now they can be removed and replaced easily.

Picked up ESS tune in prep for headers install soon. Have their "euro tune" loaded, and I can't say I'm a fan of the new throttle mapping maybe I'm just used to the way it was for years, but I'm having a hard time being smooth. I always have sport mode on and love it, so I don't mind a sensitive pedal, but this is a little much. Power does feel like it comes sooner, ~2.5-3k and vtec kicks in yo, as opposed to 4k+ before. I'm not sure it's actually any stronger, but it def overwhelms the tires easier. Gonna take some getting used to.

Finally found a diffuser that looks functional, I ordered it last week and it is on the way. These guys are out of Russia, a company called Fancywide. http://fancywide.ru/

I've been on a spree here lately with some very good deals: Picked up a Carly Wifi code reader and the pro app. Very sweet device. Craigslist guy listed 2 rear Mich Pilot AS 255/35/18 at $95 for both, not each! Less than 5,000 miles and look better than that. Have a shipment from ECS coming today with another first aid kit bracket for the passenger side, an oddments tray, and a little black screw cover for the passenger vent that I managed to destroy.

Big fan of 4Runners. I have a 97 4Runner with 300k miles on it, and the thing is indestructible. It's actually my first non BMW vehicle, and I'm completely sold on Toyota SUV's and Trucks.
Would have loved a new 4Runner, but they're pretty pricey. So I ended up adding a Z4MR and will just keep driving the 4Runner until the wheels fall off. Quote:

Got these delivered today, trying to make my SuperSprint tips look a bit more beefy.

Haha well I just might have to sell these. They are just too big and since supersprint welds the tips so close together, there is very little room between the insides of both tips. Going to play around with it to see if I can make them work.

It's got a little weight to it and one can see they put some development into it. I think it's an impressive piece. It retails for $265 on bimmian.com and is worth it. Wouldn't mind getting it powder coated another color though. I recommend getting one since I wanted a strut bar and looked at everything. |

Is installation as simple as it looks? Remove the three bolts on the shock towers, lay the bar in place and reinstall the bolts? |

Remove the six bolts (3 on each side) on the two shock towers. Clean the towers, you don't want to put new parts on dirty metal. Place the caps on the shock towers, and make sure the metal pin is in the indent on the underside of the strut brace cap. Bolt them down and don't over tighten them (seller said torque is 25lbs). Line up the strut bar (takes an usually large Allen wrench) and bolt down. All done. Went to wash the car and the usual undulations weren't really noticeable so I think it works pretty well. Get one!!! |
