Well Casey, I am an LEO and I couldn't disagree more with your statements or point of view! But know there is real evil in the world and they are all around you. We try to keep them in line and you feeling safe enough to utter such garbage! Just know that I and any other LEOs would still protect you if you happened to fall prey to the predators of society. Unfortunately, the odds are they will choose a time when one of us is not around!

Incidently, Florida's experience where CCW is a 'shall issue' state has demonstrated just the opposite. Law abiding citizens have experienced a drop in carjackings and road rage incidences. It is a felony to flash your gun to threaten someone and most CCW permit holders take their right to continue carrying with a somber sense of responsibility!

Thank you for your service. That is just exactly what us law abiding citizens pay you for.

I respect your opinion and I 'm sure you see far more criminal activities than I do or ever will. I know there is real evil in the world and we definitely need to be on our guard. However, I'm sorry to say that I feel less safe with untrained, non-LEOs carrying deadly weapons in their cars or on their person.

We live in a great country where we can disagree on things like this and work through the system to fix them. Thank you for your perspective.

You are welcome but unfortunately for LEOs, you are getting a lot more protection than you are paying for!

However, I'm sorry to say that I feel less safe with untrained, non-LEOs carrying deadly weapons in their cars or on their person.
Your fear is unsubstantiated. I am all for proper training in markmanship, safe gun handling, use of force guidelines, and how to act when stopped by law enforcement but I have no problem with non-LEOs carrying firearms There have been many instances where such lawfully carrying persons have come to the aid of out numbered or injured LEOs not to mention other citizens.

Since you choose to go unarmed through society you should be thankful for other citizens, that by the very act of responsibly carrying a gun, limit activities of the violent predators of society that are in fear of choosing an armed 'victim'. Violent crimminals have stated as much many times.

Perhaps you are the one placing society at risk by shirking your civic duty and demanding restriction of other peoples civil liberties due to misplaced ideology!

I seen it in the holster,
Mines a 1st Gen 9mm too,
Made In Germany markings over it, Seems tighter than the newer S&W imports Ive used,
I just took that picture for fun,
Carrying a gun in NJ is a big no no

Your position is noted.

Again, thank you for your perspective and your service. I've been told many times to ALWAYS be repectful to a LEO, no matter how they might criticize or judge you.

You are a scary person, sir, so I suggest we put the cars back in this thread rather than a discussion on the CCW.

And have a wonderful day!

Your condescension is noted. Isn’t it always like someone who advocates more social controls to attempt character assasination when they can’t mount a legitimate factual argument! It reflects poorly on your position and I am happy to end our particular discussion.

i'd like to carry and, i've thought about it , but i'm in the USAF there are rules about bringing firearms on base. last thing i need to do is forget that my gun is in the car and roll on base. it's amazing how often my red Z4 roadster gets subject to "random" vehicle inspections

I think having a gun handy in the passenger compartment can be tempting in times of road rage---just one more thing with which to overreact. With that said, my carbine fits nicely in the hatch when I go to the range.

intriguing thread. guns are banned in their entirety in singapore where i come from, and reasonably speaking, crime rates there are already minimal to begin with, so no big deal. i'm only starting to get used to my colleagues asking if i'll be 'packing some heat' when i venture out on to town late at night or something. in which case, of course, i'd be taking the hyundai

How about the Canadian "Killer Colonel"

Well . . . how about the Canadian Air Force "Killer Colonel" who broke into about 40 homes to steal panties/bras and ending up murdering two people . . . and he was the commander of Canada's largest AF Base! He was just convicted. So, it would appear that weird shit happens to our good friends in Canada as well.

Being armed gives you an option. However, you really need to get some legitimate training with your weapon and you also need to decide what you are actually going to do if "what if" happens.
