2006 3.0si manual won’t start
I’ve had my car for a year and it’s at 99k miles. The car has run great and been maintenance free. For the last month or so I occasionally had a delay in the ignition sequence. When I turned the key there would be a second or 2 delay, with a little bit of a “whir” noise before turning over. Today, all I get is that “whir”. Lights and radio come on, but no crank.
It’s almost a daily driver and I don’t think it’s the battery, as it’s been on a trickle charger just to be sure. My educated guess is the starter, but maybe the ignition switch. Any thoughts out there? Thanks. |

Correct, it's a safety switch. Just turn the black knob down some and see what happens. I use to keep mine right below the switch kicking in for faster shifts. But this is what happens sometimes. Takes 10secs to check.
