As long as you confirm that it was only a cosmetic move (like mine) and not due to a body shop repair, you'll be OK.
If you prefer the OE location, it's very easy to move.

No kidding! Mine were WAAAAY off - a 30-year UAW member on a 3-day bender could have put the things on straighter, blindfolded.
Reminds me of my favorite BMW acronym, one I picked up locally in Greenville years ago - "Bubba Makes Wheels".

Are we talking about the black car that was linked? The M badge is on the proper (left) side. Perhaps not in exactly the right location (also not good!), but not on the wrong side.

I think it is just lights reflecting off the chrome surrounding the roundel. Make sure you bring a paint guage to see if any parts of the car have been repainted.
