Windscreens on back order for a damn YEAR!

Well after reading on here and then speaking to my dealer, it is infact true, orginal windscreens are now taking 12 months to land so...... it gave me the kick up the behind to get mine properly protected as i simply do not want a pattern screen or the risks associated with changing it out, thought you guys may want to see the process!! Really enjoying making content with my Z4///M.

You're going to need a bigger hammer

At least your demo went better than Elon Musk and the Cybertruck demo!

Just wish I had a car that was worth spending lots on protection film

I asked my PPF guy about doing that on a new CX5. He sells 3M and said they tried making an effective product for windshields for years and finally gave up saying it was not practical. They get nasty really fast and need frequent replacement. As the guy said - not for everyone. I suppose if you rarely drive your car as the guy in who owns that car in the video, it may be decent. But then again, if you rarely drive the car, the chances of having an issue are also much less...

ive been product testing with STEK for a good while with the company van, and i can say this is not my experience , yes it needs care but it will last a good few years , way longer on a car like in the video, BUT if it lasts 4 years then needs swapping out but keeps my screen perfect ( which it will ) im More than happy with that. In our case with screens taking a year , this product is a no brainer. The car in the video may be low miles but has spent most of those miles on the sprint track scene ( similar to autocross ) .

Also bear in mind my target audience is Lamborghini, classics, ferrari where screen costs are $$$$s. Really good to read your thoughts however and thankyou for contributing.

Good to hear. As I have ZERO personal experience with a product like this, it is very interesting to see it in practical use. I am thinking I should have gone ahead and found a place to do it on my CX-5 as I already a have a few small chips on the windscreen after 10k miles.

you need a good installer that's got lots of PPF experience as this needs really careful installation to otherwise the glue is disturbed and you can see the distortion lines , done properly its impossible to even know its on the screen. I had a big rock clip off mine today on the motorway! Felt so good knowing its properly protected along with the bodywork.

I had a built 997 turbo, but it was getting too expensive to run and my local track closed. I saw a great opportunity to sell it, and then buy Bitcoin and Ethereum. Meanwhile my plan was to find a sub $30k fun convertible with 3 pedals, so there's still nothing better than an M roadster for that.

The goal with this car is to just keep me happy until 2025, when I'm forecasting that Bitcoin will be over $100k, and Ethereum over $10k easily. Then I'll cash out some of the crypto, and get myself a new 718 Spyder. I think they're better all around cars and have a warranty.

Since this is my money saving mode car, I don't want to go down the route of supercharging or motor swapping. GrouppeM intake, H&R Springs, spacers, and I had the seats re-covered in red leather. I'll get some performance tires and just enjoy the car for what it is.

When mine was supercharged, it left me stranded and waiting on a tow truck too many times. I don't want that again.
