Canadian Supercharger Experiences

Who in the great white north has supercharged their M, who did it, what were the timelines and costs like?

(yes I am still thinking about coming back to the Z4MC world he he!)

Hello,

Although not an //M unfortunately I did S/C my 3.0.
Cost wise depends on the brand you choose and the level of performance you looking for.
As far as time frame goes, if the manufacturer tells you 8-10 hours count on 3-4 times that amount of time for unforeseen problems.
Along with the initial costs goes the inevitable parts you will need or want to replace during the install
Most "kits" can be installed by the average shade tree mechanic pretty easily.

Ask a lot of questions of the respective manufacturers and feel comfortable with how they respond to your questions as after sales support is a must with this modification.

I have had mine S/C'd now for a year and a half and it leaves a grin on my face every time I drive it.

Lastly there are a few companies in the GTA who are "factory certified installers" for some of the bigger name manufacturers.

Love the SC on my car. The only advice I'd give is speak with whoever is doing your tuning to ensure the car will pass an OBD-2 only emissions test, lest you end up in the boat I'm in right now.

M roadster has an ESS VT2-500 on it and has been charged for two years already. It's currently for sale in the FS section. Let me know if you have any questions.

Really....the only choice imo is ess. They have great support from what I heard and understand. My friend had his coupe supercharged with vf and he encountered alot of wrong parts and poor communication. I would put away 15000cad for a supercharger plus install

ESS or G-power.
Ask pokeybritches he's the only one who has both

Support is just as important as the kit.

I installed a used VF 570 kit last summer. I honestly had a good experience with VF. I needed a few missing parts and had a few questions along the way and they were helpful and responsive. And the car makes great power.
