Don't know for sure, but I think his location of "York" refers to jolly old England, not "New".

By using a compound the product that the dealer used can be removed.

I would bet that what the dealer used is just some run of the mill wax/polish that isn't any more permanent than anything you can apply yourself.

They claim it is a wonder shield but it isn't, they just charge you more, just like the carpet protection is usually nothing more than taking a can of Scotchguard sprayed onto your carpet. Then the give you a "warranty" knowing that you will probably never be back to make a claim and they are $300-$600 richer.

These things are usually just a ripoff for the unsuspecting buyer.

I wouldn't compound a car just to get a wax/sealer off you could probably remove it by using some Dove and a clay bar. I'm no expert but I'd try that before I did something drastic.

I agree with this. Many years ago, while in high school and college I worked after school and summers (about 3 years) at a dealership in the detailing department. We applied "Paint Sealant" which was a very good and expensive wax but not worth nearly what they charged. Do you any reason to believe you have anything different?

I wouldn't spend any effort getting it off anymore than any other wax.
