2004 Z-4

My sister in-law's Z-4 ran fine when she parked it in the driveway last night. This morning, the interior lights worked fine, but when trying to start the car nothing happened. The starter doesn't engage. There is a slight humming on the drivers side mid engine. I charged the battery and tested and it is full and fully functional. I disconnected the battery as well to see if that helped. The engine service light is on as well as the EMT?? light. Any suggestions prior to hauling to the BMW dealership? Thanks for your time.
