It's the Varis (VRS) hypernarrow.
I'm not sure if they still make it.

I'm exploring a few possibilities for production and hope to get something up soon.

Update 6 - Design Rev 1
Just thought I'd get an update on one of the design revisions and an idea of where this is headed.
I'm glad that I've been able to run this on the car for a while before jumping into a GB right away. I have a number of design revisions that I will be working on as soon as I finish my last track day next week. one that will definitely be changed is as follows. At certain angles the back edge of the side pieces as they follow around the lower edge look a too flat. This is the most common viewing angle & From this angle it looks fine However from this lower angle.... It looks like the back edge drops down as it gets to the corner. This due to two other elements. - the curve of the air duct above it - the outer leading edge of the splitter which also curves up In this pic you can see what i'm referring to. The back edge needs to have some arc added (blue line) to soften the back edge and pull it together with the air duct & leading edge. This will also eliminate the flat area (yellow patch) I'm also working on a couple of other ideas to implement on production pieces but they are too preliminary to get into here. one of them deals with a way to handle the body color vs all black issue. I plan on a full mock up as soon as I get these off of the car. I'm also working on other production methods which could help to improve my ability to get the production numbers up. Once I sort that out I will be posting a separate GB interest thread. .

This is already better then anything produced for these cars IMO!
Thanks for taking the time to refine it even further. I see what you are talking about in reference to the curve of the duct. Small revisions like this make a huge difference in the overall aesthetic. It's one of those perfecting details where you eye knows it's better right away, even if your brain has caught up to why Great progress, exciting stuff!

For tracked cars you definitely need to balance the downforce.

I cant put any aero for now because otherwise I move up my class in bimmer challenge. since Im currently in first position, I want to wait cuz I could win 4 rcomps tires + some shop discount. Next year Im going with slicks and aero to be competitive in NASA time attack in TT3 class. |

It looks absolutely fantastic ! I am glad I was visiting when it was in the early stages of development. I am definitely in for a group buy.
The only comment that I can make is outlined below, maybe it's just my eye, others will chime in as well. It seems that the edge on the kit straightens out just a little too much in that area versus the edge of the bumper. In between the red lines if you end up doing a revision I would like to see it a little more curved. Ian, considering how relatively close I am to you, if you ever need a volunteer to help out at any point please reach out to me ! I'd love to be a part of this project

The side you reference was the 1st side done, the right side extension mostly corrects what you're talking about. But, I do plan to tweek it a little further in that area. I'm finishing off some outside work at the house before colder weather sets in. In the next few days I'll be back on this full tilt. I'll give you a shout when I'm ready for another set of eyes to look at it. Thanks for the offer.

here's a quick phone pic of the other side with a straight edge held up to it. This side has a slight convex curve to it which shapes in a little nicer with the bumper. . Is this more what you were thinking about??

Not exactly what I meant, I was more referring to the kit covering the edge of the bumper evenly not the shape of it, before it begins to curve. But I do like what you've done to it here, maybe when we see each other next time I can explain it a little better in words.

The kit follows the body line up and around the arch, I think its just a little shadow in that pic that makes it look off a bit. I'll give you a ping one day soon.

Very soon.
Jus got some new materials in, trying out a couple of things that would enhance the final version for mounting etc.
