Z4M Oil Leak

I just changed the oil on my 2006 Z4MR with about 21,500 miles and I opened the hood and saw smoke coming out. It appears as though some oil has leaked out from somewhere around the valve cover and went onto the exhaust manifold.

Does anyone know the possible cause for this problem. I know for a fact that I did not spill any when doing it, so I'm not sure what it could be. Before the oil change I had no issues whatsoever.

I have had no more problems after that one incident. It might have been that the cap was not on 100% even though it seemed like it was...never know.

Thanks for the follow-up, and glad it's solved itself.
