I'm truly having an internal struggle with this. I bought this car from Lance last summer, and it was/still is in showroom condition with only 29,XXX miles on it. My intention was to keep it forever as I LOVE Z4 coupes. After going on a few weekend drives last summer/fall, I parked it for winter on a battery tender. I've probably only put ~500 miles on the car.

I am pricing it on the high end of the market, partly because I believe the car is worth it, and partly because I don't want it to sell.

The reason for listing it? I am looking at a 997.2 with 22k miles in as good of condition as this, with the hope to keep THAT forever. Can't have two forever cars unfortunately (not my rule...).

Here is a copy and paste from the original for-sale ad Lance put together, along with the link to his original ad. In addition to the D-Force wheels on the car, I also have a set of OEM 3.0si wheels with nearly new tires that will be included if desired.

Nice looking car. Seems a bit on the high side though, especially since you can get an M for that price. Here is one at a local BMW dealer right now.

If you read his description he knows the price is on the higher end. It is like a person doing the whole, "Make me move" scenario with listing their house at a higher price. There might be someone out there that will pay that much but it is unlikely.

I'll do the same for my M coupe once I have enough money to get a 991.2 C2S.

You interested in buying or just want to debate the price?

Thanks for the positive comments.

And to be fair, that black over red coupe actually looks to be priced pretty well. Not quite as clean of a car and history as mine, but still...

I'm tempted to just park mine in storage in a bubble for 30 years and blow people's minds when I pull back the curtain...

I'd have to own 2 of them to do that. I enjoy driving the car too much. GLWS.

I agree. It's a shame there is literally nothing new available today that drives like this car. I had a BRZ for a few months thinking that would come close, but it felt slow, flimsy, cheap, and soft compared to the Z4.

Well, found the 997.2 I want. While the sale of this Z4 isn't required for me to get the 911, I am certainly more motivated to make some room in the garage.

Lowering the price to $24,950

Yeah I'm in the market. Trying to find the right coupe. Had a 3.0si for a couple years but sold it. Now I'm missing it big time. Think I want to hold out for an M though.

I had both an M Coupe and a 3.0si coupe at the same time, and while some might doubt this, I actually preferred (and grabbed the keys for) the 3.0si coupe 80% of the time. It is lighter and as you drive it closer to the limit (which is of course lower) is more confidence inspiring, while the M is more nerve racking.

Of course the M Coupe does have those valuable M badges and will be marginally faster at the track. But as a daily driver, the N52 is bulletproof (S54 can be... picky), gets 30+mpg highway, and is still 85% the car the M is.

I may actually be talking myself out of selling the 3.0si here...

I feel you on the non-M love, used to have one also and they're great. 200+ lbs lighter IIRC, can definitely feel it

Decided not to sell it. Probably going to do headers/cam/exhaust, LSD, and M steering wheel and just enjoy the car.

I had the same car and thought about the same upgrades. But ended up shopping for an M because when you add them all up you are still 70hp short of the M with the same mods. Maybe more. Also, you can't really upgrade to the hydraulically assisted steering on the M instead of electric.
So for $7k more you get
70hp
Hydraulically assisted steering
Limited slip
Deeper offset rear wheels for larger tires
Bigger brakes
Brake duct cooling
Better looking front and rear and bumpers
Better looking hood
Quad exhausts
More upgrade potential.
M steering wheel
Black headliner
M Sport seats
A bunch of M badges

Last but not least I tried tracking my 3.0si and the electric water pump went out. I just don't think the cooling system or engine itself is up to the abuse of track events like the S54 is.

Never-the-less the 3.0si is a great car and if the M is not an option then I would say keep it! I miss mine tons. Like everyone said its 80% of the M and a very fast and fun car.

I already have an M Coupe dedicated track car in the garage

I'm looking for something unique and fun for evenings/weekends cruises.

A fellow on another Z forum claims to have done it, and from his description it didn't sound all that onerous.

Both debatable. In particular I really like the smooth arch of the 3.0si hood, compared with the lumpy M counterpart.

Been there. Done that. I suggest you re-think selling the Zoupe.

See my post. http://www.zpost.com/forums/showpost...6&postcount=44
