Thanks for the input...any drone between 2.5k - 3.5k highway cruising range on the SS race cans? It sounded like those BMW sports cans have a bit of rumbles and pops to them...is the SS race pretty similar? Hmmmm...need to find some real life sound samples

IMHO though? SS has the cleanest sound out of everything out there, and that's why I personally went for them. The trick is to find slightly used ones, but in good condition Because buying new is never a good investment for anything automotive-related. Unless of course you get something extremely rare which will hold its original value indefinitely (timeless). If you were up in NorCal, I'd meet up with you and let you check out my SS setup |

here is my car when i had rpi mufflers. It is ebay headers and rpi mufflers. I have to say it sounded so good, but it caused my interior to rattle like crazy. I sound dampened the trunk and it helped but as you can see i have put stock mufflers back on.
Here is how she sounds today, oh wait can you even hear it :

The Ac Schnitzer exhaust sounds amazing, but I don't think I could ever justify $2K+ for mufflers. Honestly, even $1000 for an axle-back is a pretty jagged pill to swallow, lol.

Ohhhh yeah
But it might be because I have the tarp thing pulled out at all times (so people can't see into any junk inside my trunk) But yeah, it's always the center bulkhead (behind both occupant seats in the car, where the storage is. That bulkhead and everything behind it rattles upon hard acceleration, or anytime the car is put through its paces throughout the RPMs xD |

Like what my brother said when he first drove my car, the car is deceptively powerful. I'd rather keep it that way rather than announce to my neighbors that I'm out with my car. |

I don't want anything too loud, but I wouldn't mind a little louder and more aggressive under WOT. It's definitely not the highest thing on my priority list, but maybe if I get myself an X-Mas present.

This! I want my '04 to sound like this, what's your setup? How's it sound at light throttle under 3k RPM?

I have the TS2 Supercharger kit from ESS with long cat-less headers, factory resonators, SS Magnaflow "Y-Pipe" (to bring the duel exhaust to one) and a Flowmaster Super 44 muffler. I got a chuckle from people when I told em I had Flowmaster on my Z4 until they heard it. I'm sorry but I'm a soldier, I dont have $600+ to spend on just a muffler.
I only had it for 2 days before having to have my clutch issue worked on again (DO NOT BUY SPEC) but from 2100-2800 there was what sounded like bass under light load. But when using cruise control its damn near silent! I wouldn't change a thing! |

The ^ Ferrita sounds like my magnaflow setup with 3" slanted tips. Throaty, burps, pops and not too loud. I custom them to be a direct bolt-on with OE flanges. Will be up sale when DKF is ready.
