Im sure someone would be willing to swap their original parts for yours. CarMax won't give you any money for those mods.

Every time I see this thread bumped I open it in hopes he finally decided to part out. It's yet to be the case
Early in PM'd OP and he seemed open to parting the brakes but I was interested in some of the smaller items (I.e. Strut bar). Somebody buy this thing and part out the mods to make a cool few thousand+ $ and have a Z4MC for even cheaper! PS: dibs on strut bar if that happens :]

Dood CarMax, WTF? You have to do a partout before going there, they won't give you anything for all this great stuff.
At least don't give the Brembos away, maybe I could work something out with you for those. |

man, i can't believe this nicely setup'ed coupe has not sold yet.. its a steal!!!
bump for beautiful coupe and awesome aftermarket parts. GLWS.. man, don't take it to carmax, before doing that, find an old barn somewhere and park it for a few years, you will never be able to buy back something as nice as this mate, and you /will/ regret selling it.. just hang on to it man..

What do you honestly think carmax is going to offer you for the car? I can't imagine it would be anymore than 19K. At that price, I'll take it off your hands for sure

Ninja: Can you take it to Carmax before July 31 and then come back to let us know what they are offering? You have 7 days to accept their offer after they write it up. I am sure someone here will beat their lowball price. Another member here recently sold his Z4M with only 60k miles to Carmax for $16k. He could've done better if he gave the forum a chance to beat that offer, but we never got that chance. He was asking something like $23k then waited until the last second and was forced to sell to Carmax for $16k. Ouch.

I've recently listed my meticulous '13 Honda Accord with 6 speed manual online for $16k, which is under book value with free extended warranty through Honda NA and people still had the guts to low ball at $10-12k. Ran it through whole sale auction and sold for $17k, now new car store got it listed for $21k. Had similar issue with my 07 M Coupe, had it listed for $18k and people were offering $15k regardless of good it is or how well it was maintained. I took $2k off my E46 M3 and kept the coupe instead. Buyer's need to set realistic expectations when purchasing pre-owned car. When it comes to odd-ball cars like these, people seem to want pristine condition and pay way under market value. Again, some people just don't want to deal with that BS and dump their cars. |

How much do you guys think he can get parting out these mods, assuming he needs to trade back for the stock part w/the buyer? I picked the higher priced mods that seem relatively easy to swap out.
Dinan carbon fiber and aluminum front strut brace with stage 2 aluminum front strut tower braces. Dinan 19 inch monoblock rims (19x9 with 3mm spacers front, 19x10 with 5mm spacers rear). Dinan high flow throttle bodies. Brembo red BBK (6 piston front, 4 piston read, cross drilled rotors, stainless steel brake lines). ACS aluminum pedal set, handbrake, and shift knob. RPI Exhaust |

Love to hear what Carmax is willing to give you for this car and a chance to exceed their offer in "as-is" condition. Though logistics will need to be worked out because I am in California. =)

It has 102k miles. There is a perfect one on Auto Trader right now with 58k for $25,900. Granted, without the mods. And a red one with 94k miles for $22,000. With that info, it seems without mods this car would be worth somewhere around $20,000. So you are getting quite a few upgrades for $5k.
