SS X-pipe together with Eisenmann?
Is it possible to install the Supersprint x-pipe together with the Eisenmann silencers? (Z4 M Coupé). Or do you have to go with the SS the whole way?

99% sure it's a NO because the Supersprint x-pipe converts the OEM 2-pipe routing to a single larger pipe to match their single inlet mufflers. The Eisenmann is a dual inlet muffler. Technically you can shorten the Supersprint pipe and run a y-pipe on the Eisenmann side to make it a 1-pipe and match that up with the Superspring x-pipe. But then you'd be doing a lot of hacking and welding. Eisenmann also has a "sound pipe (mid pipe)" you can look at as well. Out of curiosity which Eisenmann exhaust were you thinking about? Hopefully the race! =]

If you could post photos of the SS pipes I can let you know if the Eisenmann exhaust will work with this setup.

BimmerZealot,
I'm looking at Race, I like it loud and that's why I'm intrested in the X-pipe aswell, and I like the Eisenmanns tips better then the SS. I didn't know Eisenmann offered a sound pipe! I will check up on it. Here's a pic of the X-pipe: http://www.supersprint.com/prodotti/789813.jpg /Matjo/ |

looks like just mufflers. and it looks like the SS X-pipe will only work with their mufflers. it looks like the SS mufflers & pipe slide and clamp together. where as the stock pipes a mufflers connect using flanges. either SS was smart in making sure you had to buy their whole set-up to use the pipes, or the pics are wrong.

The eisenmann is muffler only. The supersprint x-pipe for the Z4M is NOT the same as the x-pipe for the Z4. The regular Z4 incorporates a y-pipe to go from the stock two pipes down into a single pipe to their muffler. Since the Z4M has a muffler on each side, it splits at the first resonator and one pipe goes to each side. The Z4M supersprint pipe uses this same pipe configuration so it should fit. The only differences would be pipe diameter (if changed) and location of where the pipes and muffler meet up.

Oh okay, your original question was whether or not it bolts up to the Eisenmann right? If I remember correctly the Eisenmann is muffler only which means the only way to fit it would be to cut and weld the stock piping to it. So the Supersprint would be no different.

Hm, I dont think they are flanges, it just looks that way, if you look at these pictures. It looks like those are clamps that just happened to be at the end of the tip, one is sport muffler one is race muffler.
But weird thing is one is on the end, one isn't on the end. Best bet is just to call them and ask. Worse comes to worse you can always weld the Supersprint to the Eisenmann mufflers. |

Either way you can weld/clamp it onto the Supersprint setup by either bolting up to the flange some extenders and welding/clamping to the x-pipe. Or getting rid of the flanges and welding it. Or adding flanges to the Supersprint and bolting it onto the Eisenmann. Either way a competent exhaust shop should be able to do it.

Coming certainly quite late... Does anyone have finally mounted the SS X-Pipe on the Eisenmann mufflers?
I'm currently running the G-Power mufflers (a custom and optimised version of Eisenmann) and would like to improve sourd even more with the SS X-Pipe. Thank you for your help. |

Your only choice is the Rogue Eng Diablo X pipe.
The SS Xpipe will not fit unless customized. I'm running Eisenmann with the Diablo Xpipe.

The SS X-pipe will fit fine and definitely is an option. The 'customization' is quite minimal. Cut 2" off the end, get it flanged, bingo. Mine have worked well for ages and will work with any aftermarket system out there (that uses stock flange - 99% do).
Remus cans are going on next week. Also, keep in mind the SS X-pipe has a different design than the RE |

Ok sourds great... I'll have a look on RE's availability in France, but my first impressions on their website are quite good.
I hope the shipping costs will not be tremendous from USA to France. |
