Z4 Alarm for Cheap & Install Instructions

So I installed the factory alarm on my 3.0si this weekend. I followed the instructions Bill M posted on BF.c. Hood install was fine but I found out that the installation for the M model is DIFFERENT than the non-M for the siren portion of the install. Instead of installing the siren under the rear cover of the bumper, it goes behind the right wheel well. Thought this might be useful for anyone who purchased the factory alarm in light of the new pricing. The coupe alarm typically goes for $120 but if you enter the part number directly, it can be purchased for less than $40. I'd get on this before they realize the connection and adjust pricing!

Part Number: 65730302424

At Tisher for $37.60 if you enter the part number directly

Or $120 if you look for the alarm by drilling down parts listed under the Z4

i just edited the title as it still benefits m owners in case you haven't purchased it yet! remember, you still have to go to a dealer to get the alarm activated. however even without activation, the alarm now chirps whenever you lock/unlock.

hurry and order before they know what's up! =P

It certainly will look suspicious when they see many orders on M coupe alarms on the weekend.

eh, if you're order's in it's in. they can't cancel and not honor their pricing. fyi it took 3 business days for my order to get beyond the "processing" stage. and i do know the guys at tischer are at bimmerfest this weekend so that might delay things an additional day or so...

i ordered mine a few weeks ago at 37 and I have it. No price mistake there, they are most likely trying to get rid of them

The $40 part is the Z4 alarm without the motion sensor? Wonder if you could piece together the whole kit cheaper then the single part number.

Click on the PDF, I believe there's a list of part numbers, see if you can order individually...

Nuts! It looks like this deal will only work for the coupe. I wonder if I could install this one on the roadster? Obviously it won't have the interior motion sensor, but I wonder if it would work?

$35.75 plus ship=$44 total. Still cheaper than Tischer by two bucks. Shipping should be the same. I try to split my parts purchases between the two.

Getbmwparts is the parts dept at Tischer so I am not sure what you are talking about. Either way I paid nothing for shipping at Tischer. My total was 37.xx

the interior motion senser does exactly what? i obviously understand how a motion sensor works but how does it function on a car alarm?

Doesn't the alarm go off if your top is down and someone tries to get in?

Meant Bmwpartzdirect. Tischer will add the shipping to your order when it ships.
