Angry The Juice is Loose!

My beloved blind-spot side-view mirror has the dreaded leak.
Radar-Mirrors says they can't fix it.

I'm going to see if I can get it apart, clean out the juice, and get it back together.
A search reveals that Vanne and others have done it for the rear-view.

Is that a BMW part? Did they provide specifics as to why they can't fix it?

It is a BMW part.
I get the feeling maybe they don't disassemble and re-juice LCDs.
I bet for the rear view mirrors they replace the entire internal mirror assembly.
In the case of this side view mirror, it is the entire assembly.

I got it apart and cleaned up fairly easily, but not without cracking the outer plastic trim.
I'm pretty sure I can glue the trim back together so the crack doesn't show.
I haven't quite figured out how to put the glass back on the mirrored part and seal it so moisture doesn't get in.
Got busy with work and Holiday stuff, so it's now in my 1/2 finished projects queue.

If you still have your original mirrors, you can adjust them to eliminate blind spots. I don't know if you do this already, just thought I would post. I've done this for the last couple of years and it works really well even in Coupes.

Here's the youtube video.

Yep. Back to stock mirror for now and I always adjust them so I have to lean pretty far to see the side of the car.
I still miss the 5 panel wink mirror I had in the MR2.

Are there any warning signs that this is about to happen?

In my case it slowly crept up. You would see the liquid going brown

I have noticed the "object may appear..." text is getting fuzzy on the passenger side mirror.

For about a week mine seemed dark during the day, like they were dimming when they shouldn't be.
Then the bubble appeared one morning.
