There's no family, just the two (2) Dales.

Dale Burdette did more for Ron, getting him help and treatment, than most people would do for their own blood. The Ron turns on him, accusing him of being out to get him and take his money. I think Alzheimer's is worse than cancer, in that the patient feels okay, but hurts everyone around them. That's a disease that needs a cure

Honestly, there is nothing worse than any form of dementia. I know this story all to well. Just last year at this time my mom's body left us, yet that which made her "her" left a lot earlier.

This is a disease that eats away at the person leaving only the disease--a disease which is an angry and evil thing--to speak and act punctuated by periods of silence. It seeks to hurt and destroy all around it.

The only thing I can offer is to celebrate, remember, and focus on the person who was, not the disease which is. Ron, whose name I share, left a legacy of contributions and help for many. He's a part of the Z legacy. That is what I will choose to focus on. I will not grant that disease any quarter. It's a disease that needs to be conquered.

We can also carry forth Ron's legacy through the ongoing support, help, and community here on Zpost and other forums. It's a unique group and culture--unlike other forums and communities I've been exposed to. By carrying on that spirit we also carry forward a part of Ron's legacy. That, I think, would make that which made him "him" happy.

Add me to the list to support keeping the resources he built available.

Agreed. I lost my father to alzheimers a few years ago. This all sounds so sadly familiar. I'm in, too.

I haven't been a member that long and didn't have the privilege of knowing Ron, but it is very obvious he was loved and respected. What Finnegan said was spot on---please add me to the list of supporters.
