Just got my alarm kit today, kit number: 65730152393 The hood switch installs the same, and the siren also (installs in the right rear of car). But this kit also has a tilt sensor included with it, which installs behind the storage cubby in the middle of the car. It was a little tricky to get to but I got it. My alarm chirped when I plugged it in, but nothing as far as unlocking it locking it. So, to the stealer we go tomorrow. I will post the results, hopefully I don't have issues with making it chirp properly.

Bump to confirm $40 alarm pricing at Tischer
Thought I'd bump this thread up since it' a couple months old, to confirm that Tischer still has the basic alarm setup for $38 on their website. After shipping and some random fee I think the total was $56.
If nothing else, having the car chirp so I know the car is locked/unlocked will be worth it, but will get it activated at some point I'm sure. Still can't believe BMW is so cheap that an alarm isn't considered default equipment on a $30K+ car. Oh well.....love everything else about it. |

Dubbedown, here are some photos. I also took a pic of the only thing I found that looked remotely like the connector. It didn't fit though. Let me know if you see anything I'm missing. Couldn't find anything under the right side back bumper either.
Thanks! |

Just ordered my alarm from Tisher for $38.31. I decided the tilt sensor and inside motion sensor isn't worth the extra $$. If all goes to plan I'll activate it myself.
Shipping and handling was $20 tho! I added a second cargo net and fasteners since I was already getting screwed on shipping, then realized I only ordered 1 fastener not 4! I guess I'll go to the local stealership and get raped for the other 3. |

santov, man, I should have put mine up in the Classifieds. Was going to sell it shipped for $35. I still have no idea how to put it in my car. Can't find connectors in the spots they are supposed to be located in. If anyone wants to buy mine let me know.

Doh! Post it in Classifieds now. At least I got a cargo net. I wonder if it's the fact you have a 2.5 your car isn't prewired. Last edited by santov; 03-03-2011 at 07:51 PM.. Reason: damn auto-correct |

Yeah, I think that's it. I pulled the back bumper and found the bolts for the siren, but not wires anywhere with a connector. None up front either. That's what I get for getting the cheap Z4!
I'll take a photo of everything this weekend and put up a classified. |

For the rear harness - Pass side rear - Pull the TIRE first - then pull the panel - get some good light - as you are lookin at the opening on the right of center and back and UP you will see the harness/plug TAPED to the rest of the harness. Sorry no pics. I couldnt find it at first - got a strong light an there it was. For the hood switch connecter - straight back behind the tube looking wiring harness where it is DIRECTLY behind the BRAKE master cylinder. Last edited by BruceJ; 03-04-2011 at 10:22 AM.. |

Install instructions
Quote:
A couple of things I am wondering. The part list shows at least a few items that are not in the kit. Part # 0017969 - Label Part # 0303955 - Installing Instructions Now I know that this should have at least given me an install instructions, but what is the label for? Any help is appreciated. BTW - I am not happy with UPS... those bistards charges $36.68 brokerage fees. The darn part was almost that... Thank goodness I found this great deal on this forum (thanks guys).

I just got done installing the alarm kit on my 04 this weekend and the instructions for the motion sensor install in the first post weren't right for my car or the kit.
The instructions here were the right ones. https://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/sh...4&postcount=11 edit: The motion sensor went between the seats in front of the assist buttons/oddments tray and according to the paper work the kit was P/N: 65 73 0 309 944 and I think the P/N: for the motion sensor is 65 75 6 944 875

Tischer alarm NOT chirping
I know i need to CODE the alarm. I installed the $38 Tischer Alarm today, but I'm not hearing a chirp like everyone else is. THe rear siren is bolted in and plugged in and the front hood sensor is plugged in also.
Is there some way that the dealer also disabled the chirp function in addition to the alarm itself? thanks |

Wow! I looked on Tisher's site and couldn't find it either. I thought maybe the part number changed.
As an alternative you could try www.bmwpartzdirect.com. I punched in this part number 65730302424 and got back Alarm Kit @ $38.31. Somebody here bought from them without problems. Hope this helps! |
