Im trying to install a zhp shift knob but i cant disconnect the wire because the one i have is the non illuminated one. Can anyone help please?? It looks like a part of the white connector can come out but i cant get it, or do I have to remove the wires from the original knob?

You need to explain yourself better.

The connector will come apart. You have to tug pretty good or use a small screwdriver on the clip which holds it together. It has a small nub which hold the two parts together. You need to update your profile info as it says nothing about your BMW- just Subaru...

Yeah thats what I ended up doing. The frustration just clouded my thinking. To be honest it was the first mod I have ever done, on any car. And sorry for not updating I will do that now!

No worries. Glad you got it done. It is always unsettling when things don't work as expected. You certainly didn't want to break anything. When I recently updated mine to the new M5 lighted knob I did a test fit and couldn't get the clip apart a second time without a screw driver. Now it doesn't clip as securely as it did initially...

It is much brighter than the OEM and feels better as well. The light pattern is much more uniform(LED). Great mod.

What do you guys suggest as a second mod? I was thinking exhaust, currently between stromung and rpi because they seem to be the two best in my price range.
