The Official BMW M-Power Website excludes the Z4 M!

Anyone ever tried to register their Z4 M at the official BMW M-Power website, www.m-power.com, an "Exclusive community for drivers of BMW M automobiles"? You have to supply a VIN in order to create an account, and it has to be the VIN from an M vehicle.

I tried unsuccessfully earlier this year and repeatedly got the message “The vehicle identification number is not from BMW cars!” When I contacted them to let them know that my VIN was being rejected, I got this reply:
Dear Mr. [SD ///M4],

The correct VIN should look like this "WBS....".

Best regards,

M-Power.com team
So they're basically saying that since our Z4 M cars, which were made in Spartanburg, SC and have a VIN that starts with 5UM, weren't made in Germany, they're not eligible to be registered at the official BMW M website!

If you're offended that they would exclude the ~1800 Z4 M cars that were produced in the US, let them know by sending them an e-mail at kundenbetreuung@bmw.de.

Very disappointing - I'm offended and my car is an SI, not an M.

I dunno why the E85 / E86 generally seems to get little respect from BMW, but I have heard of similar slights in the past. I think I heard at one point that the BMW museum in Germany doesn't feature any Z4M variant.

I was just there on May 11, and I frankly don't remember! I was more excited about being able to see the Jeff Koons E92 M3 GT3 Art Car, which was the only car missing from the entire Art Car exhibit that was on display when I was there five years ago. On that trip, I didn't own my Z4 M Roadster yet, so I didn't look for one. This time the visit was much briefer since most of what was there was the same (it's a museum after all) and I was more focused on what was new, including the BMW 100 Jahre exhibit.

I guessed this means the Z3Ms are excluded as well? Since those are also assembled in SC?

And yet they included the X5 and X6. LOL Yeah, that makes sense, doesn't it. Throw out the pure sports car, but they'll include an SUV with an M badge.

Probably, I don't have a Z3 M VIN to check, but if the VIN doesn't start with "WBS"...

Euro M here and my VIN does indeed start with WBS, but the website only lists current M models anyway... didn't give me the impression there was something of interest there for owners of previous models. Am I missing something?
