i didnt use the ess badge, its to big and brash for me imo, but what i did was source the vw g60 golf rallaye supercharged badge, i placed one on my ash tray lid and one on the rear of the car under the ///M badge, the length of the badge is EXACTLY the same size as the ///m size, it looks awesome and like its come from the factory like it.

Should be any day now. According to my conversation with Roman it should be done this week...so it could be any day. Phoenix is about 23 hours drive from where I live, so I need to factor in a couple days for getting the car home. I will definitely update when I hear something. How's the car pulling for ya? I can't wait to drive this thing.

Really enjoying it at the mo fr8t, the car performs faultlessly, and ess's support is bang on, even when i barrage them with questions, they always keep prfessional and calm, with 100octance the car just flies, whenever i open the hood, i cant help but smile. i have my first trackday end of next month so im really looking forward to giving the car a harder workout, so far no heat issues, nothing, the car runs better than stock definatly.

One more small bump in the road. The car is running great, but when they did some fine dyno tuning the boost was down about 1.5 because of the extensive intercooler piping. I guess the shape of all the bends caused a reduction in boost with the current pulley and belt setup. According to Roman, the new pulley and belt will be added within a couple of days and this will make the blower spin faster to compensate. One major benefit will be more powewr than they planned because of the new pulley and belt. Roman was thinking maybe 525bhp for the VT2-500 kit The boost is set for 7psi on the VT2-500 and the blower is going to spin faster than planned...so I would think this will add some nice blower sound This is all very normal R&D stuff that happens with a new kit. These guys definitely have everything under control and I'm very impressed with their timely and honest communication. ESS rocks! I will post more info when I get it. Cheers

The VT2-500 is planned for 7psi...I'm not sure what the final boost will be with new pulley and belt, but it's going to put out more than 500bhp. I'm pretty sure you can add a blow off valve if you want with no adverse effects. I think ESS can provide this for you, but it's not like a quick blow off like a turbo. It will have a longer blow off sound and that might get old after a couple of weeks of driving. Something to think about.

fr8tdog, the stock valve can vent to atmosphere ;-) its just recirced back into the supercharger intake, and i agree it will get old i'll leave well alone, i should imagine on vt2 we will end up running 10psi ish, can wait to see your detailed pics of the pipe run, cooler mounting ect ect.

I was talking to John at Good speed Performance and it sounds like it may be another 6 months before it goes into production...does that sound about right? Hurry up and get all the bugs worked!.

Bugs have nothing to do with their production date. When my car is sent back to me in a few days all bugs are worked out. I believe it has more to do with other projects and production time lines. I would not accept an inferior product if bugs were the case.

to me, I'd want at least 420 at the wheels from a stage 2 kit. Hopefully you'll hit that #. I'm surprised that ESS calculates the drivetrain loss to be at a high 15% though
