A set of TRACK TIRES?

I am interested in hearing everyones track tires they are using. I am going to use the stock wheels after I get another set as the regular wheels.
I have run R888 in the past and really liked them but I am open to all ideas.

Purple Cracks (Hoosiers) are usually the tire to be. But that always comes with a price.

I know Hankook has a decent R-Comp tire out there that's suppose to compete pretty well with the Hoosiers, at a cheaper price

IF you like the R888 you'll love the Nitto NT01. Similar compound, different construction and usually a cheaper price. I've found them to last longer in terms of heat cycles than the R888 and fall off at a slower pace.

Hoosiers are great, but like crack. Once you start using it's hard to stop.

The Pilot Sport Cups are prohibitively expensive, costing anywhere from 1.5-2X the lower tiered R-Comps without providing significant performance benefits like the Hoosiers. In addition, the available sizes aren't idea in that it would either leave the sidewalls too tall or too short. They also take longer to heat up, so for the various tiers of amateur racing, it's not the ideal tire for short stint races.

They do come in the ideal sizes for Porsches and have multiple fitment in the 19+ rim range so they're really popular with the Porsche crowd, and back when they offered sizes for the E46 M3 CSL it was popular for a while with E46 M3s because it's one of the few R-Comps commonly available in 19s.

How about rs3s and federal rsr's. They are a great street/track tire that does nearly as well as the cheaper r comps on the market. I noticed that the r888's were hard after about 3 track days and useless.

These are sitting in the garage for me next season. RS3s.

I'll be able to give you a review and compare them to the T1Rs I ran on this year.

Just ordered the R-S3's too! Great price and a good setup for the Advan RS's coming too.
