If you're doing the AS ssk I'd keep your stocker, that was perfect height. ZHP would seem too short.

Let's see. It says it fits Z4MC... so ya it fits. Is that the confirmation you're after?

Fits Z4M - yes
For what it is, very expensive - yes

For what it costs, a waste of money with the AS SSK shifter - yes

Not needed if you or your installer takes their time and does a careful install. Mine is has nor more resistance, stickiness, firmness - whatever you want to call it - than stock, just a much more positive, precise feel. Adding a heavy shift knob would be a detriment in my case. If yours ends up with a lot of resistance, then maybe a heavier knob would help, but I would say they could have installed it better to limit the resistance issue.

I'd get the shifter in and then rethink the knob issue. You need to see what it's like before deciding to let near 3 bills walk out the door for a glorified knob....

+1

put on the AS SSK FIRST, and then take it from there... the ZHP knob, as great as it is, is really a poor man's workaround for the SSK feel. once you have a true SSK there, you don't want to mess with the effect by even further shortening it, unless you really are not content with the height (which in that case, you should've opted for even a shorter throw although that was not an option for this particular GB).

considering your stock one lights up, don't see a difference besides the height. maybe there's a chrome ring around the shift pattern, don't recall... but nothing that justifies that hefty price tag, especially if you're doing a disservice after you install the ssk.
