IS anyone else having electric convertible top issues?

yeah i get it, i know its cold and i have absolutely no bussiness opening the soft top in NYC in the dead of winter...hell i shouldnt even be driving this thing right?
anyway,... this evening i was trying to get two ladies in the front seat like i always do and right when i was doing the whole stand away and watch as the top goes down by its self thing with the key button only the windows went down.....the compartment adjusters in the back were in the appropriate position and so everything should have worked just fine.....well i got the two ladies in without using the ideal method which was dropping the top half way and then closing it after they were both properly situated.....seat belts and all. any ways i dont know whats up....maybe its cold and shit doesnt work like it should for the soft top but yet i can hear the electrical motor running to operate the top but no joy as they say. or maybe the dealership effed it up? but all they did was mess with the bmw assist stuff and airbag light....or maybe it was the body shop but all they did was replace the left rear quarter panel and even though their working proximity to the convertible storage may have had them around the area i doubt they could have messed it up....i dont know....maybe i plainly should not be attempting any winter usage to begin with.....but I love this car, I just clocked 53k....and if repairs run anywhere over 1k ,im buying the hardtop and saying f#$k the open air......thats all.[/SIZE][/SIZE][/SIZE]

hahah maybe you exceeded the weight capacity with the ladies in the front seat.

I've had a similar issue with my old 3.0, and it was just a cable that disconnected. the dealer fixed it for like a buck.

hmmm two girls in the front seat both 5'7 both 120 ish...i dont think i exceded the weight....

oh yeah and Shakib dont hate cuz you exceed the weight limit with just one girl on a daily basis....lol

so a new convertible motor is like 350 but i hear it working so it might be an easy fix

ok no issues.... the motor was locked up from ice......it works now.....
