Problem with the Left Window

Left side window goes up and down like normal when I open/close the convertible top. But it does not move up with the switch on the door. I changed the switch and still have the same problem.

The window motor is still functional, but (get this) it only turns in one direction. If i push the button to roll the window up, the window goes up. If i push the button to roll the window down, the window goes UP.

Note: Window still moves 1/2 inch down/up when open/close the door.

Try the window reset. Search for the technique.

In order to do the reset, I need to roll the window all the way down, but I can't do that since the switch only closes the window when I push or pull the button.

Window works on top up/down and on door opening. Not an issue with the body control module. Replaced the dual window switch on drivers side, no help. Original switch operated the same as the new one. Original switch worked correctly at some point? No mods added in between? Sounds like a shorted or crimped wire in the door to me.

Switch can only raise the window (Upward only), so when I push the switch to lower the window, it'll go UP instead of down! No mods added.

Problem started right after a hand carwash.

I had a problem similar to this after a battery replacement. Dealer had no clue. I finally went thru a long drill of putting the top up and down using the key in the door. After several different things I got it to work again.

Can't remember the steps but I did post a long story about it sometime back. You should find it with a search.
