Flooded: Went to the Dark Side
For all those that gave support when car beloved 07 went under water thank you it was very much appreciated. Ended up with an initial estimate at $19k in damages after 2 weeks of tearing it apart. Attached are the last pics before she left. So I pushed to have the car totaled. All the guys at the BMW shop wanted to buy the car and Salvage was pestering them to pick it up. I don't think it even ever made it to the yard someone was very interested. Wished I could have kept it for track but not in that position. Someone will enjoy it.
I was torn at getting another MCoupe didn't have but 2 years in the car. I have owned BMW's and Porsche for over 15 years and decided it was time for a change. I was torn between what my budget would allow: 08/09 Jag XKR 08/09 Audi RS4 08/10 Merc AMG After scouring the web for several weeks I found a 1 owner 2010 E63 AMG with 31k on it. Bought a plane ticket to Chicago and drove it back to MD. The 518hp V8, exhaust note, and adaptive, massaging, cooling/heated seats sucked me in. The engine is mind blowing. I just finished my first mod staggered 20" Savini gunmetal rims (hated the dipped chrome OEM and they were rashed to hell). So with sadness I say good bye. This forum is one of the best online for real gear heads (along with E46 fanatics) and I will miss it. The Merc forums I have found so far don't seem to have the same level of knowledge, support, and love of cars besides their brand. But man - the engine / exhaust is so worth it - the car is sic, it's a muscle car in a suit Cheers p.s. I have the OEM MCoupe wheels in mint condition with brand new (100 miles on them) conti extreme all seasons nitrous filled that I will be selling. I will be posting pics soon!

Thanks for the update. Quite a change, both great cars. I DD my M5, so I am a big fan of German super sedans. THANK YOU for changing out those hideous chrome rims! The anthracite wheels look fantastic.
