Money shot...Laguna Seca
Laguna is always and will forever be one of the best track photography tracks on the West Coast, IMO. You can't take a bad shot there.
Photo courtesy of BMW CCA Golden Gate Chapter and GotBlueMilk.com. I assume that Got Blue Milk reference is to Star Wars ANH, Luke Skywalker drinking the blue milk on the farm?

Those C63s were formidable. There were at least 2 there, one was a "black edition" if I recall. Not the easiest car to pass on Laguna Seca, because it's notorious for needing a ton of HP to be competitive.
This was a CCA event with Golden Gate chapter, so it's full of BMW M3s and M4s. The C63 more than held its own based on the feedback I've received. The picture was taken during the B group (advanced intermediate) and it looked like he was having a ball wrangling it around the track. That C63 is in its natural habitat at Laguna Seca. I would venture to guess that they're probably topping out at about 105 up the hill between turn 6 and 7 judging from how quickly it pulled away from me when I was behind it. I didn't have a chance to say hi to the driver, so I can't give you any more feedback. But just from what I can see, there's a ton of potential on track

Must be a chapter by chapter or region by region thing, I've been running suction mounts since 2011 in the Pacific Region and no one has batted an eyelash? Maybe it's because both ChaseCam and GoPro were early supporters of chapters in our region. Dunno.
I remember as far back as 2008-09 time frame when people started running suction mounts in our region. I don't recall anyone getting in trouble for it. EDIT: They gave me some teasing about the diffuser falling off because of all the custom "cuts" I made into it...

Surprised you don’t just run the camera over the bulkhead, you get a much better viewing angle IMO. Side note, what tire sizes are you running? Front looks pretty flush, are you running spacers? |

This is the vantage point: At SMMR 2 years back I ran both sides: Gives me either validation I'm on point, or reminds myself that I still have 6 inches to spare. Some people don't like this vantage point, because half of the track is obscured by the car.

Ahh the apex point is a good one.
Harry’s is the best, I’ve actually bought a 2nd Apple (no cellular) device just so I can run 2nd GoPro and overlay easily lol. Don’t even use my laptop anymore. |

I've got an odd collection of GoPros, from an original gen GoPro HD that's more than 10 years old, to a second gen GoPro HD that's 5 years old, to a GoPro Session HD that's a year old. They're bullet proof, and I would like to upgrade to a GoPro 5 or 6 but they just don't ever break? And I don't really need all the new features so there's been little justification to upgrade. The Session HD is the only one HLT can remote fire, so I usually use that as my master camera. Now-a-days I'm just lazy. I just want to arrive and drive so I just mount my iPhone X on the dash and go drive. But this is Laguna Seca...So I had to at least hook something up. I don't get to drive Laguna often enough.

How was the aero working for you? Any notable difference in downforce with the splitters?

You know, I keep wondering about that.
I don't have baseline for Laguna Seca. I have baseline for Buttonwillow. With the splitter, spoiler, and diffuser added, I'm about 4 mph faster at the end of the high-speed sweepers (Riverside/Telledehga) going up to the brake zone (Phil Hill/Magic Mountain) on average. At Buttonwillow that's the most likely location where aero will have a slight effect (between 80-90mph on corner entry, all the way to ~100mph potentially when you terminate at the braking zone up hill). This is the first time I've driven Laguna Seca in the MZ4 Coupe since 2006 so I can't really tell you. Laguna should benefit from aero (lots of high speed turns). With a stock weight car, an extra 5-10 lbs of downforce is nearly meaningless. That's 0.3% more "grip." If this car is stripped and weight 2,800 with me in it? We'll talk.
