air bag indicator
It's on all the time. Not intermittent like some others who've had this issue. Any ideas before taking it in?

Mine was the Battery cable. Apparently it gets a little corroded and the computer gets small variances in the voltage that the airbag system cannot live with. The cable was $125 from the dealer. It would be easy to install as it is only about 30 inches long. However you will have to find someone with the computer to turn off the light on the dash - usually a dealer.

Dirty connections can cause faults as per the comment proceeding about voltage variations. My 20004 Z4 has a connector in the battery well that was dirty and the bag fault was traced to that connector. When the BMW tech cleaned it and cleared the codes the fault went away. Not saying that is your problem but that was my issue and result. You need to have the codes read to determine the next steps to take in diagnosing the cause.
