Just Installed SS Race Mufflers

So I figured I'd post up a review/pictures/sound clips!

Install was pretty easy thanks to crfine88's DIY.

Impressions: They are somewhat loud, but to be honest not as loud as I was expecting based on other peoples' opinions. Cruising anywhere around 3k rpm is nearly as quiet as my stock mufflers were. It is very easy to have a conversation using inside voices. There is somewhat of a "loud/drony" range from 2k to about 2.4k, but who drives in that range anyways?

Below 4k or so, these things sound MEAN. No rasp, just a deep growl. Up top they really don't get much louder, but they have a very aggressive/racy tone that is awesome. As a testament of how awesome, I set off 5 alarms in a parking garage with the SS Race mufflers and only 3 with no mufflers at all.

Overall, really pleased but I think doing some pulls with no mufflers sort of ruined any "civil" setup for me Perhaps the SS x-pipe may be in my future since the tone of these at anything below 5k is leagues ahead of no mufflers.

Standing Revs

No mufflers

haha been there with the no-cans setup. Welcome to the SS club

Hit me up when you're back in NorCal. You can hear my setup before deciding on the x-pipe

I'd definitely like to check out your car sometime for some mod inspiration!

I already bought the x-pipe to go with my SS power loops. I am trying to not get too loud. That's what the race car is for, or atleast that is what my wife keeps telling me.

She will be in California on the 20th, after driving her home from Oklahoma to Colorado, and to Sacramento.

Oh, I was referring to kcdedric hah, but oh well. SS sound ftw

If you haven't done headers or section 1 yet Sean, you'll be fine with x-pipe and cans alone. It won't be too loud. However, once you add the primary portion(s), the volume goes up quite a bit

Some times I miss my no muffler sound with my headers but I dont miss the constant backfiring though.
