oddity while driving

hey guys,

just noticed this today *just started happening*, happened 3 times so far today

While driving i noticed that the radio will cut out for maybe 2 seconds, and for maybe half a second, lights will flash on my speedo cluster.

Is this just a sign that my battery is going to die soon? Or is this the sign to something worse?

Car is an 06, 52,000 KM (32,000 Miles), original battery never replaced.

I do believe I have the issue where the light stays on in my compartment between the two seats as well while driving (could be a contributor to taking up battery juice if this is the case)

Thanks for your input guys

Also could be a sign of a weakening alternator. Most likely just a battery though

Oddly enough after commenting on this my battery died today lol. I got the Everstart MAXX 94R at Walmart for $109.88 and the manufacturer of the Everstart batteries is actually the same manufacturer that supplies batteries to BMW. So you get an OEM BMW battery for a fraction of the cost with a better warranty (3 year free replacement at Walmart vs. 2 year free replacement at BMW dealer)
