Brake duct removal

Hey guys, so my brake ducts are basically broken and just flopping around inside the front bumper. I constantly have to realign them inside the bumper...which is annoying because when they are not aligned correctly they can come into contact with my front wheels when making a sharp turn, and it makes this horrible noise since the entire front bumper starts vibrating.

My question is, can i just remove these brake ducts/throw them out? I plan on replacing them...but just for the mean time I would like to get rid of them to avoid the brake ducts hitting my tires.

Sure, no problem there. They're largely cosmetic anyway, and you stand to do more damage to other bits if the catch a tire.

If you take your front bumper off, you can bolt them in place. All that is required is drill a small hole in the top of the brake duct and it will never come loose again.

I did this on both sides on my MC. I purchased nylon bolts and nuts from Home Depot. They have been on for the last three or four years with out complaint.

^^ +1 did this a long time ago.
The OE clips are just plasti-welded and not a great design.

Well I already murdered the brake ducts with some heavy duty scissors. If I decide to get new ones I'll go make sure to bolt them on!

Do you have to take the bumper off and then screw them on or can I just jack the car, get under there and screw the brake ducts on? My driver side duct is flopping a bit.

You have to take the bumper off to get to the bracket to attach them. There's a DIY for removing the bumper that is pretty good.
