OEM front rotors

Hi guys, got my OEM front rotors in the other day… and i am not sure, but theres a bit grinder off on the disc.. see pic..

is this for balancing the rotor? and normal? or is this not normal? my other rotar has it too, but smaller….

there spanking new..

My guess would be its part of the manufacturing process, most brake disks have this. I assume its for the jig which drills out the bolt pattern

will have to look for that next time I have the wheels off. kind of a lot of material for balancing. I mean, you can road force balance a whole wheel with about 2 ounces of weight if you're good.
