I need some opinions on price.

A co-worker is looking at used Z4 Roadsters. One is a 2007 3.0i.
He as driven the 3.0 and likes it........ a lot.....

The other is a 2006 ///M Roadster. He will not drive it until he knows if it is a good deal or not. He knows if he drives it he will buy it.....

Take a look at the link and tell me what you think.

My 2007 with 15k fewer miles, sold by a dealership with extended warranty AND CPO warranty still active for 18 months, was $1,300 cheaper than this car. Oh, and mine is a coupe, which demand a premium over the roadsters. I'd tell him not to drive it, though he should keep looking - with a couple months of searching, he'll find the perfect price/color/mileage combo for him/her.

As the mileage is pretty high for the M, I'd say $25k is about as much as I'd pay for it.

I agree, its high for the mileage.
...common color, base premium, no navi.

25 - 25.5 K depending on condition sounds about right.

Mike519 just picked up a 06 Sepang with half that mileage & navi for ~$28.5

This is what I call "Dealership Impulse Pricing":

Basically, on unique or rare car, dealerships will slap a very high price on a car in hopes that someone will be walking by and have to have the car on impulse without doing their homework.

I paid $33k for a 2007 MR with 10,000 miles, interlagos blue with light sepang interior. And navigation. This past March. Perfect shape.

My Interlagos Blue '06, with 31,810 miles and carbon leather trim, extended leather, nav, heated seats, and iPod adapter was $288 less ($28,600) from a dealer.

I looked at an almost identical car to mine from a private buyer, but it didn't have the extended leather or iPod adapter. It had around 62,000 miles, but it also had curb rash on all four rims, worn thumb rests on the steering wheel, and a broken cup holder, and she wanted $24K.

If the interior and exterior are in good condition and the service history is good, the only thing it really has against it is the relatively high mileage. I would say $25K max if it's in as good a shape as it looks, less if not.

Agree with this assessment. If it's at the mileage listed, that's the max I'd pay, unless Inspection II is already done, and if the rotors still have life left. If those two areas aren't covered, that needs to be factored into the price.

I wouldn't discount the price myself due to their being no Nav (that's a plus in my book), but I don't think it has heated seats, which are really nice for early in the year and late in the year top-down motoring.

PPI is, of course, highly recommended.

It has the buttons for heated seats. You can see them in one of the pics.
And if the OP doesn't buy this one and keeps looking, get heated seats. I would certainly second the statement that heated seats are a must have.

^I agree for a roady; bun warmers are a 'must' have.

I convinced him that he did not want an ///M. He wanted more of a commuter car (better gas mileage) but he wants a Z4.

So, I found another 2007 3.0i with 22K miles with most of the options (no nav, plus in my book also)for $16K. It has imola leather inside and ///M seats. The only thing he does not readily like is the imola leather...

He and the owner are talking now....

Doesn't like Imola? Too bad he isn't on the left coast. I could fix that for him with interior and seat swap!

Sounds like a good find, and yes, I agree, no nav is a plus. Reasonable price too.

$29k... too much

That's what I paid 2 years ago for my 06 MR with 15k miles, 3 months left on CPO, and a 5 year extended warranty.

Mine is a MUCH better value.

http://www.bmwcca.org/classifieds/listings.php?id=4181

Don't buy any M car unless you pull full records through a BMW dealer.

The car I found is being delivered to his house this weekend for inspection. I think the dealership wants the car off the lot.
