Rated M (Official Journal Thread)
Figured its about time I introduced myself around here. I have recently picked up a 2007 Interlagos Blue E86 M Coupe.
First off, a little background information from where I come from. I have owned an E46 M3 Convertible since 2006. I went through a long and ever changing mod list with this car to keep up with my Eurowerkz show team. Here are a few pictures of my M3 in its prime: I do not have an updated garage pic at the moment, but here is a crappy pic of what my garage held last fall: As you can see.. My M3, a 2000 323Ci (Daily Driver) and an 09 135I. I am a Bimmer fanatic Anyway.. Enough with that. Below is my new baby! MANY MANY mods to come as I plan to have this double as a fully capable track machine, as well as a car suited for my position within Eurowerkz. I will save the first couple posts below this one to document my progress. Thanks for looking! |

Update # 1 (05/16/10)
Sorry for crappy crappy pics.. I will replace these with much better later. (I just finished this project tonight after dark) I ordered some Matte Black CF decal vinyl from a local guy here to start messing around with. I placed in on the rear diffuser and the front lip tonight to see how I like it. I also have plans to do the roof and mirrors as well. It actually really does look pretty good, I cant wait to see it in the sun. Really gives it that "dry carbon" look. Update # 2 (05/18/10) Alrighty, I took some crappy pictures today to show the new drop and some daylight pics of the CF Vinyl.. Update # 3 (06/02/10) Wheels... Installed some Avant Garde 19" 310's over the weekend. LOVING THEM! Please excuse the dirty dirty picture, there is still tire lube on the tires and dirt all over my car.. I have a real photoshoot scheduled for the weekend!! Last edited by Rated M; 06-02-2010 at 05:53 PM.. |

nice pickup.
as for the stick on CF stuff, kinda of counterproductive - technically adding weight to make it look like the car weighs....less... But it looks like you are into the car show perspective, so I can appreciate that. But the car looks clean. Any concern about the CF vinyl get permanently attached to the bumper from the heat of the exhaust?

I paid less than fifty bucks for the vinyl, really just screwing around at this point. I am likely going to just paint these areas Gloss black. |

OK cool just a thought. Exhaust systems get much hotter than the sun though - just thinking outside the box, in the event you ever want to remove it... I thought it might get baked on there and kind of ruin the paint underneath.
Anyway best luck with the car!

Yea i'm not sure about you guys but my exhaust tips are extremely hot after a 30 minute drive, driving normally. So hot it almost burns my fingers.

Welcome Rated M! I also look forward to your progress.
+1, seems like the community is really growing! Seems like we get a lot of E46 M3 Converts that don't want to give up their S54 |

M3 is gone.. I got sick of the backseat and the convertible...
I also considered going Imola again but too many members of my Eurowerkz chapter have red cars already. |
