Cost of racing
I started to realize that track racing is probably one of the more expensive sports compared to autocross or 1/4 mile. Was looking for input from some of you on what you spend yearly, and on what. Things such as association fees, lodging, inspection, parts, etc. Also trying to find ways to reduce my costs as it usually gets to ~$1k per weekend event, excluding tires/brakes/fluids.

300 track fee for weekend
150 for room for weekend or sleep at the track like I do for free 150 gas for 100 octane 50 food for weekend 5000 for Hoosier r6 for the year. If you are a winner than free with NASA 2000-10000 for maintenance. Some years you w ill spin a rod bearing or blow a motor or get in an accident (hasnt happened but possible) while some years just oil, brake pads, and random wear and tear. Sponsorship can help or maybe your company sponsors you for advertising. Sanity is expensive and being the fastest is sometimes more expensive. |

Excellent! More expensive that I thought. We are talking ~6 races per year?

It is cheaper to do hpde but the faster you can drive, the more wear and tear is put on the parts. |
