FS: 2011 Map DVD, Front Grill, Oil Filters
I have some extra stuff laying around that I don't really need, so if anyone is interested, shoot me a pm, I would prefer to get rid of it locally.
I brought 10 oil filters from states, only need 5. Asking $15 each, i believe they are 28 at toronto dealers before tax. I have a set of Authentic 2011 BMW dvd set for sale, asking $125, I believe they retail for about 200 I have a stock grill painted black with rock chips, asking 30

However, a poor copy could result in constant re-reads and hunting for data. That might make the reader (stepper motor, etc.) work much harder, and that could leading to premature failure. Since some folks may have burned disks, it would be good to know if that's a penny wise pound foolish approach. |

I've been 3 for 3 in seeing burned discs work fine in MKIV nav systems. But still it's not unusual for optical drives to be picky about disc quality. I keep burned discs in my car and the originals stay at home.

Same here, which is why I'm asking. Heat, etc. in the car can cause media to degrade. |

WTF is wrong with you? I don't get why people just jump to conclusions without knowing any facts, just keep it to yourself next time, I am not selling copies and never have (or will), what you are suggesting is pretty shady.
Just to clarify since this guy brought it up, I got the dvd as part of the deal of purchasing the car, it had to be ordered at the time and I finally picked it up last week. I don't really use my nav, so I figure I can put the money to better use. Let's stay on topic. Thanks

Sorry for running your thread off topic (really). Most of the discussion was insightful, but it really has no place in a for sale thread, and I think we should have taken it to another thread. You can always ask one of the mods to clean up the thread (or have them delete it and start a new one in the FS section or here in the regional area).
There should be no doubt about the authenticity of the map DVDs. The photo in the OP is of the OEM map DVDs. You also have two positive Itrader ratings. Back on topic: I think someone who wants a map update, grill, or some filters should jump on this. These are good prices for good stuff. GLWS. |

I never meant to imply that you were selling copies, it was more of a joke. You posted pictures, obviously you have the real deal.

The whole 'burned CDs can damage your laser and CDs' is perhaps a rumour that can be traced back to the late 80s when the trend first started. Some (the conspiracy theory minded) think it was started by the big music companies to discourage illegal copying.
I've never heard a good (physics based) explanation how a read laser could damage a CD/DVD. Constantly reading a bad copy (as another posting suggested) is the only thing I could see having any ill effect. I have a homemade update DVD in my car and I'll let you know when the Blue Meanie burns up |
