I had the same problem with the grinding, changed battery and it worked for a while. The grinding came back, changed starter and the grinding was gone for 4 months and then came back. Now I'm taking it to the dealer so they can fix it before summer.

From what I've gathered it could be something called "ignition switch", which is a relatively cheap part, that need to be replaced.

Hmm, grinding with the starter would lead me to thinking the starter solenoid isn't releasing when it should... Does it crank over ok besides that?

Well, I changed my starter to a brand new one so it's highly unlikely that it would be the same problem again. Also when it's hot and not humid outside it works just perfect. The problem appears when it gets cold and/or humid.

Very wierd problem.

Just went on yesterday afternoon: set of Michelin Pilot Super Sport, and while at it, wheels were powder coated with a very neat color that just hit the industry ...the picture doesn't do it justice since it's overcast and the tires are dirty/greasy from mounting. The powder coat is very metallic (flakes). Better pictures to follow when this rain goes away.

Also installed new cowl cover under the wiper blades since the original one was chipping away...what a PITA...make sure you have a good wiper arm puller for a much easier process, if you need to get this done. After trying everything under the sun without the puller with no results, I resorted to buying one.

PS: this thing handles amazingly with PSS's!!

I was thinking of some new cabinets for the garage, like these:

http://www.costco.ca/NewAge-Bold-Ser...100095300.html

There is an 18 gauge set that is tougher than that set, and I think I'd get the 6 piece version, not the 12 pieces at that link. the red should look spiffy in the new garage though.

Here is a "cool" fridge:

Thanks! The tint was on the car when purchased it. Due to contrast it looks much darker than it is. Based on prior experience, it seems to be around 28-30%, which is essentially the legal limit in the state of FL.

Yes sir, here you go...these are the interior pics from when I bought the car 3-4 weeks ago. Only difference in the interior is a set of new ///M floor mats. Also, the pictures don't show it well, but that's carbon fiber leather trim.

Very nice mate, and you've got the heated seats option. Very nice indeed. Also noted that your seats look like they are in great nick. You've got the same dash as me, maybe you can clear something up for me, when night time with the lights on, is the pointing meter for the speed and rpm lit up?

Also love the carbon leather ; )

Great looking car. It's almost the exact spec and color of mine, except I have extended leather. I'd like to see some better pics of the wheel color, as I've been thinking about getting mine in shadow chrome (like my old z3 MC).

Thanks for the compliments!! I'll verify this for you when I pick her up...I left her at the shop that's addressing the bottom part of the front bumper (prior owner scraped the fangs of the bumper and I decided to have it repaired).

Yes the interior and seats are in phenomenal shape...minus some scratches on the plastic covers of the steering wheel. I want to replace these but I hear they are an arm and a leg - so this has me thinking whether to go costume or buy the pieces.

Actually, could you verify something for me as well? I don't know if it's due to age, but when I'm sitting in the driver seat and slide (electric) the seat forward as far as my legs will allow, the transition feels smooth. When I slide it backwards, I feel two areas where the sliding feels a little rough. Not sure if the rails need attention? Since this seat is the one that is constantly being sat on, maybe after being in the same setting for long, something bent out of shape? Thanks in advance!

Thank you. The weather has been terrible in FL over the last few days. When I pick up the car and as soon as there are some decent rays of sun, I'll snap some shots of the wheels...they are very metallic and look great in person.

So you have a twin with extended leather? Nice!! Everyone knows that red adds 10 more hp to the M Coupe

Bought a set of aero side skirts. Planning on taking off the front bumper to repair the underside of a fang and install my mstache which will be painted Sepang Bronze. Since the front bumper will be off I was thinking about taking off the back too and install Parking Dynamics sensors on both ends. Anyone knows about the performance of this system on Z4M?

Just picked up some new floor mats from getbmwparts.com and hoping to buy a Z4M steering wheel if I can find one at a good price!

Thanks! Maybe there is something in the rail, needs oiling, or it could simply be wear. It doesn't bother me much since I am the only driver of my car, so the seat is not adjusted often.

I'm picking up my car tomorrow, I will check the needles per your request.

I bought the Ultra Racing 3 point strut tie, along with the E46 strut tower supports (hope the studs are long enough for all this lol) - I broke enough strut tower braces and finally the tab broke! Over it..

I went pretty extreme this month and ordered quite a few things:

KW V3's
CCW LM20's
Ebay Rear Diffuser
Wrapped roof in gloss black

Should have everything on in the next few weeks!
