Z4M ambient temp sensor
Does anyone know where the ambient air temp sensor is located in the MR? I know for non-Ms it's in the lower section of the driver side wheel arch, but since that area is blocked by the brake duct in the M, I was wondering if the sensor would be in a more accessible place. I tried removing the plastic panel behind the air duct but it seems connected to the duct itself and wouldn't budge.
Hopefully replacing the sensor isn't a bumper-off job |

Yes it's a bumper off job.
It's on the lower left side.

Honestly, after having my bumper off so many times, I realized that it's a very straight forward as long as you learn how to unclip the corners off properly without breaking the clips every time.

I've done it a couple of times without breaking the clips.
You have to work your fingers in there and try and push the sides out with straight and even pressure. Doesn't break the clips, but man does it hurt your fingers.

When you initially pull the corners of the bumper out you have to be very careful with the top-most rivet hole for the fender liner. If you look closely you will see that the rivet doesn't just go through the liner and bumper but also through that bumper clip, so you have to squeeze your fingers between the clip and bumper at the back/top and so you're only pulling on the bumper and not the clip as well. Hopefully that makes sense.

I use plastic trim removal tools, much easier on the fingers

Yea. I bought the Griot's Garage set later.
Used them a lot to tear apart my trucks and pull the door cards on the Z. Luckily haven't had to pull the bumper since I bought them.

FYI I finally got around to doing it, and the way to go is by removing the wheel arch liner. Seems much easier than removing the bumper, and the whole thing took about 15-20 minutes. Unfortunately I didn't have the presence of mind to take photos but it's fairly straight forward.
