Retrofit OEM Aux Jack on a 2004?
I see other members with a 2003-05 Z4 choose to retrofit the Aux Jack next to their cigarette lighter. I prefer to keep the ashtray lid closed, so I'm wondering if I can retrofit the OEM 2007-08 Aux Jack (the one on the panel above the cigarette lighter) onto my 2004 and still have it interfaced to my stock DSP/Nav system menu. Is that panel identical for the 2003-05 and 2006-08 models? Anyone do this before?

Pretty sure the aux jack is just a standard 3.5mm panel mount jack with a nut on it.
Why not just poke a hole in your existing panel and pop it in?

The best place for add ons I have found is the panel right above the area where the DSC DTC cigarette lighter etc is housed it pops out and can be drilled or cut on the bench.
Cheap and easy to replace should you need to. Also out of site unless you are sitting in the car. I have my garage door opener in there and the sprint booster button.

I decided I didn't have time to take on this project this summer (this was in response to Kimo's for sale ad), but now I know for the future when I have time to fiddle with it. Thanks.
