Fuel pump noise

Just wondering if anybody else has noticed or been living with a very slight, quiet hum to almost a low whistle type noise coming from what I assume to be the fuel pump in the fuel tank? I haven't had the car for too long, and for reasons not important to this thread, I haven't been able to drive it much until lately. So, I can't tell if I'm just starting to pick up on the normal fine details of this car, or if this is a new thing. I don't recall hearing it before.

At idle only, I'm hearing a real quiet hum or subtle low whistle type noise coming from the rear of the car. I've had other cars where the lift pump in the fuel tank was audible and to me, it sounds like a variation of that. What I don't know is if the Z4M fuel pump is supposed to sound like this or not. I don't recall it in my M3 and like I said, I'm not sure it was present until recently.

Any other experiences with this, please post. I'd record it if I could, but it's pretty quiet and I don't think I'd be able to record it.

It is a normal sound, M3 has it, but there is more insulation to keep you from hearing it unless you lift the carpet and cover from inside the trunk.

Good to know. Certainly, there is nothing wrong with the way the car runs so it was my assumption that it was normal. Thanks!

I am hearing this too.... But it's strange, this is my second m roadster and I never noticed it with my first one... It's annoying and I will take it to the dealer to find out more...
